PvP Flawed for PvE Players.
Anyone else agree/disagree, or have comments/suggestions?
Someone say something
If it were as simple as you’re saying it is, I’d say go for it. It’s not. Because no one is ever really satisfied.
So Anet takes the development time to make an open world PvP server. Which can happen. But it takes away from other development time. If people on that server would NEVER complain about anything, if Anet could just switch it on and leave it, that would be great. But what it would become is yet another server type to fix bugs on, deal with complaints about, etc.
I don’t think the biggest percentage of the population of the community wants or needs it. There is always a small hard core group that wants it, but time and time again, most games show that those servers are under-utilized.
So while it’s great in theory, it’s not going to happen. Because Anet already has enough problems troubleshooting even on server type. Particularly in a game with DEs, just imagine the chaos.
PK is most tarder sytem ever. 99% of PK are kids with decend gear what need boost his ego on exping/afking low lvl players because they failing on equal. I am so glad Anet dont put PK here.
Tekkit’s Workshop
If anything the game is incredibly unfair on PvP players, since they get absolutely nothing in return for PvE. You can only spend your glory for more PvP items…
And agreed with the comment above. I’m sure everyone has had their fair share of experience on open world PvP/PK servers in other games. Pretty much all high levels in maxed out gear camping for easy kills. That’s worse than Zerg vs. Zerg tbh.
- spvp is this arena you speak about, you never done spvp?
- anet wants no pk servers or systems because this takes out the worst in people. Not helpfullness, but bullying new players.
- GvG is fine by me, but only consent or instance based. Again, w/o that 1 guild will bully all other guilds slowly from the servers and 1 guild will remain…which is boring.
What happened to “guild wars,” guilds fighting against other guilds.

I understand why they made the PvP as it is. I see why this is the better way.
But for me, that is also the sole reason I don’t do PvP. Just feels like a different game altogether.
I’ve build my character in PvE. I have all the gear I like. I don’t know who is the crappy armor guy in the Mists that looks like me.
This was by design. Anet wanted to separate pvp and pve as far as possible. That’s why there is no grinding or leveling at all in PVP. Why would you expect to get something in return in the PvE world for doing pvp?
I think they have done a good job everall. WvW for players that like the bigger fights, objectives, keeps etc. For all the complaining about zerg it is not hard to run a 3-5 man and be effective (our guild does it every day) and still join bigger fights when you want. They have sPvP for those players that want to compare their skills in an enviroment of even number/stats, and even make it so PvP oriented players dont have to do the PvE grind to be competitive
What they dont have is the open PvP enviroment that is essentially players ganking players who have no chance to fight back (anyone who thinks a level 80 geared player sitting in the 1-15 zone wont crush people is kidding themselves)
I have no issue with the players that like the open PvP ganking servers to go play on one, but out of pure selfishness dont want Anet to spend 1 minute of resources building an open PvP server
For me the only additional PvP I would like to see is something in between the WvW zerg fights and sPvP. I would like something like 15v15 in a form for the use of GvG and larger scale but still skillful play.
