PvP armor carried into PvE
I’ve got duplicate PvP skins I’ll never use. If they can make them worthwhile so I can reclaim my storage tab I’m happy for this change.
So I can get a full Arah set by just PvPing and never have to step foot in Arah? That is going to make alot of PvE people mad if that is true.
So what about karma armor, does this apply to the skins that are only karma bought? If So that would be great!!
But about the rank system, I read that no more ranks?? but you’ll get a shiny new title instead saying basically your rank. or is it no more finisher… I think that’s what it was.

Based off how I read it, PvP armor seem to be look but no stats.
So if you want the stats, gotta go through PvE dungeons to get it.

I doubt that. You will probably have to transmute skins. Its a nice change each side (PVE/PVP) has its own unique skins you can earn and if you want to you can just transmute them. Fair solution for everyone and anet gets a nice boost in sells for transmutation stones.

I use Tranz stones now,so that isn’t a big deal.I didn’t run Arah for the stats,I ran it for the skins.

I think this means that a set you take from PVE into PVP, it will be statless in PVP. But if you used it in the open world, it has the stats.
Regardless, lets calm down about the “oh dungeons are useless now”. Think about it…you still need to grind to high heaven most likely to acquire the sets via sPvP. Or, simply run the dungeon. Pick your poison. Run dungeons for gear or sPvP. Personally, I’ll still run dungeons.
The only set that I can see people being PO’d about is the Arah set since its the hardest to acquire.

Can you trans skins from PVE gear onto a PVP piece already and vice versa? Because this sentence “Players will be able to earn gear in PvP that can be carried over to PvE and vice versa.” implies to me that its not possible yet. I don’t play sPvP so i don’t know but that is what i get from this sentence.
I never cared about PvP gear. I don’t do PvP in general, but when I was new I tried it out for a while. I didn’t care that my character wore a boring smock and carried a generic weapon because those things don’t matter in PvP. In fact, wearing noob gear into PvP can be an advantage if people assume you are new and underestimate your skill level.
So I salvaged all of my PvP rewards and turned them into dyes. My PvP wardrobe is empty. I started throwing away PvP rewards I got from AP chests because they’re useless to me.
And I also don’t care if someone gets skins in PvP to wear in PvE. It’s not going to interfere with how I play, so do what you like. Why shouldn’t you get rewarded for playing the way you like to play?
Nope you can’t SPvP is like it’s own game right now.

no you cannot do that currently
So this means I could finally get PVE Rubrick gear?
This pleases me.

I was thinking the same thing. Fingers crossed!

Yeah I got a good handful of Arah pieces in PvP, despise the dungeon in PvE XD
This sounds like it could be one giant step towards finally getting a PvE Skin Locker! (I’m posting this happy thought everywhere.)
thought this was very interesting. can’t wait for this change and see what it all involves.
This is good coz there are PvP skins that can’t be gotten in PvE.
Looking forward to seeing legendaries in pvp, since that means you can put it onto any character!

Legendary with no stats. I guess you’d have to skin it onto an exotic or ascended weapon but I wonder if it’d have the stat swap function. :o

Yes, it will. Rightfully so. It’s significantly easier to attain in PvP and this change would not only be a low blow to the PvE players that have done multiple Arah runs to obtain a full set, but it would also kill the exclusivity of it. Terrible idea, IMO.
Are you implying it’s hard to get the Arah set now? Why would anyone care if there was another way to get a set of dungeon armor?
It’s not like people don’t sell Arah runs anyways, so that exclusivity you mentioned isn’t worth anything right now.
Isn’t PvP skin acquisition an entirely random process? If so, it might still be easier to get a skin set by doing the dungeon in PvE.
But yeah, I imagine that if it IS a PvE wardrobe that’s coming, it will involve Transmutation Stones in some way.

I don’t think it’ll be quite like that. The legendary probably retains it’s stats in PvE, and they simply become hidden and disabled when you enter a PvP area, then return once you re-enter a PvE area. That’s likely how that’s going to work.
And bringing “PvP and PvE closer together” is likely an excuse to ensure Legendaries are not acquirable through unique PvP methods, though with the upcoming changes (gold rewards for PvP), you could potentially, with enough time and effort, afford to buy one off the TP even without ever stepping a foot outside the PvP areas and LA. There will likely not be a Legendary Weapon skin acquirable in the way PvP items are acquirable now.
This could be a wonderful bridging point for ANet to introduce PvP-exclusive skins (maybe rank-based?) and allow people to show off their dedication to PvP in PvE.

you can also carry pve skins to pvp vice versa. Is that means we can carry our Legendaries to pvp?!
If they got rid of stats on gear, people could take armour between the two modes with no confusion or hassle.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
There would still be the issue of PvE only runes and sigils you don’t want to see in PvP.

You can do that anyways. Just buy the paths.
just looking at the state of the LFG for Arah, I’d say a large portion of the players have never sat foot in that place.
What about faction gear?
So … I finally can use the PvP Masquerade in PvE …

Hopefully it’s a simple toggle in the gear panel: Show PvE/PvP armor.
i support this change. doing arah or not to acquire the gear doesnt matter to me, cos arah is easy enough that I have multi sets in heavy, med, light for my chars + access tokens.
I am happy that I can at least obtain the tribal set and convert to pve.
I hope this means the introduction of a PvE skin locker. If it does then I won’t complain.
Not sure how I feel about the skins transferring though. I mean everyone and their brother has pretty much all the skins thanks to the rampant exploiting that has been going on in sPvP the last month or so. Pretty much means all skins will be worthless once this change happens.
I’d be more inclined to side with the arguments of those who are concerned about the exclusivity of dungeon skins if I didn’t already think that ANet has abandoned the idea of “cosmetic” endgame. As it is, I hardly think having a particular cosmetic piece means anything in this game already.
I see this move as an incentive to get PvP-mostly players into PvE more, which I find consistent with ANet’s approach to “enticing” people to use all aspects of the game, a lot.

i was thinking about that too, but for arah set you need tpvp rewards which comes from winning tpvp, a match is like 10mins+ you only get like 3 equips from it then you have to salvage it with a chance of getting a tpvp token then you can RNG it in mystic toilet in hope you can get a arah part
it sums up, arah from pvp might not be any easier then arah.

[…]Do you see this improving or destroying what’s left of the SPvP minority, and do you see this improving PvE at all?
Well, I’ve always wanted the PvP masquerade (tribal) armor, but I’m way not a PvP guy; it’s just not my thing. If I can earn this armor set for use in PvE, however, then you can bet I’ll be willing to touch PvP for the first time and work my way to that goal.
In that sense, this update would actually bring me into PvP, and that’s a tough sell! So yeah, I would definitely see this as an improvement.
I hope we hear news of this really soon, it’s been a couple of months now, and I’m so eager to get my hands on that armor set!
Edit: I also read something like PvP armor will still have value after the update makes them PvE compatible. If that means these sets will be available on the TP, that would be even better!

How much I want this to be implemented on March 18th. It will be:
1) cool to have my PvE looks in tourneys
2) be awesome to farm “18k AP+ full zerker only, no rangers” – people will legendaries in hotjoin
March 18th is a maintenance patch, not a features patch.
Do not expect anything of note on this front this month.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Seriously? Many people think, feature patch will be live on March 18th, since other MMOs will launch… Well, might as well wait for a long time like every time
I would like to know the soruce of that information though, as I could not find it mentioned in any post.

My question is – do you 1st have to earn X gear through pvp in order to wear it in pve? Or will there be a different system into earning the pvp X gear in pve?
