Im level 80 and mostly a pvp player. I’m new into PvE content and I would like to ask which place is the best for farming? especially t6 mats for creating a legendary weapon?

TIA.

The Silverwastes would be the place you’re talking about.

How much gold would be gained in silverwastes in average per hour?

I don’t know the actual gold per hour ratio but for an example of what the SW are.
It is a Camp/Fort defend map with supply Escort; think of WvW but PvE. There are mobs that spawn with legendary status, other champs as well, these give champ bags.
After the defend phase there is a “breach” which you then go under the map and have a limited time to kill the 5 bosses for a boost in Magic Find and drops.
The entire map has a boosted Magic Find winning the breach adds more.

After that there is a new boss called the Vine Wraith which is a mini MOBA if you may. Three lanes all heading to the main boss. South Middle North and they all have their own mechanics for the boss fight. winning all three gives you nice rewards and a chance for an item that “was” I repeat “was” 1000+ gold on the TP, I haven’t checked in a month though.

After that you wait for it to repeat itself over and over. In the meanwhile you can kill the champions that spawn and get bags, or open “Bandit chests” which give decent rewards and champion bags. People say they get 100+ bags a day in casual play doing the SW and events.

Lastly you can do what I did and farm mobs to get T6 mats if you don’t want to do the chest farming(or if you cannot).

I hope this helped.

Around 5-10. If you’re breach hopping, depends on the skill of your map. If you’re chest farming, depends on the commander and how fast people shovel.

@Altair – Thank you for a rough ratio. I don’t bother myself in that, just doing the content and seeing rewards at the end of the day is good enough for me haha.

You might also eventually want to get your hands on dungeons. It requires a bit of active performance and good preparation, but is definitely more fun than running around a map. Well… I guess it’s up to your taste. Dungeons are definitely my favourite, so I recommend you try them out and see if it’s your thing.

Best way is to farm on your 80 all the bags from.events, or find a chest train and farm bandit bags. After that, level up or have another character between lv 50 to 54, and send all bags to them. Proceed to open and salvage, then roll in the money if lucky to get bunch of cloth armors.

SW, to my surprise, it’s a fairly fun map. I think I have more enjoyment in SW than in Dungeon. The breach boss is pretty tough, and the vine boss in the middle lane takes some strategic approach. Unlike most outdoor contents, I find SW not a boring map at all.

Yeah, didn’t want to make it sound as silverwastes is boring, it is pretty fun as well. I liked the bosses and the design, but generally I tend to enjoy more involved and small-scale content like dungeons, that’s why I suggest it to the OP as a cool way to make gold.

So zerging Cursed Shore gives a lot of T6s, and exotics aren’t too uncommon if you keep it up.

SW profits depend on several factors, but the main one is the performance of your server. You get 4 rares if you win the breach, 1+ rares if you win Vinewrath, but the profits are also really fast during the Labyrinth that starts during the break time afterward. Once you get good at hopping from spore to spore (not dying) you tend to get a lot of T6s, loot and champ bags. If you actively participated in the SW events, you could find yourself with 7-15 rares by the time you’re done opening all the bags.

Dry Top drops a lot of T6s and has a decent chance of Charged Lodestones.

World boss events guarantee at least one rare. They are mostly slow profits, but they are very effortless. However, you’ll want to catch the one posted on the dailies for that extra rare. You should also catch Tequatl at reset and Maw right after that. Maw because its short, Tequatl because its 2g + at least 3 rares.

Dungeons are mostly worth around 1.50g each path. The elitism isn’t as kittenome people make it out to be. If it makes you feel any better, all the elitists I’ve seen don’t even live up to their own standards. Look for groups that just say “80s” or “all welcome.”

Fractals… I wouldn’t suggest for profits. They can be great with a guild. Anywhere from great to completely terrible with pick-up groups. Either way, at lower levels they are about 2.5x-5x longer than a dungeon if done well and give about the same in guaranteed reward. I personally love doing them, I just don’t expect to get much in reward.

Basically mix it up

Do SW when you’re in the zone mentally for profits.

Do Tequatl, Maw as an anchor point in your day (I take a short break as I wait 30-15 minutes in Sparkfly) and then your favorite dungeon paths after that.

Do world events when you’re watching TV on the side.

Do Cursed Shore or Dry Top when you just want to swing your sword for T6s and drops.

@dark wasp yeah that’s a pretty good rhythm and pretty much what i’ve found myself doing lately. start with tequatl then maw then onto sw while checking in on cursed shores for various temple events/lyssa. maybe not optimal for gold farming but it’s relaxing and you do get plenty of loot.

i used to run jormag but it’s really long for comparatively little loot (altho there is a mild lottery factor-i got a sword worth 60 gp once).

wondering if there are some other areas/regions that offer a cursed shore type run…feels like the game is getting really small at this point (i’m just running in two or three areas). is fireheart rise or frostgorge worth adding to rotation?

Just as a note, the Preserved Queen Bee (blue-level celestial stats even though the item itself is an exotic) is still selling for 1,000 gold on TP.

Don’t forget in SW you can buy Bags of Stolen Goods from the Crest merchant for 10 Crests and 80 Copper, you can end up with loads of T5 and T6 material from those, or don’t open the bags and sell them on the TP for the 4+ silver each they go for.

For cursed shore you want to do the temple events (Grenth and Melandru) if you are after t6 materials, and bring a weapon that hits multiple targets. You should get a lot of heavy mouldy bags if you have a group about the right size. The Plinx and Gates of Arah events are also pretty good. SW is a better farm in general, but I think that the two CS temple events are still the best farms in the game if you luck in at the right time.

Q.) How much gold per hour you can get from farming?
A.) There’s no real definitive answer. How much gold you want depends on how aggressive you are in your game play. Some people don’t do anything but farm champs in Orr, where as others hit Arah, Melandru and Grenth. Then do all the champs and escorts.

Q.) Where is the best farming spot?
A.) Again there’s really not a definitive answer. If you want claws, then you need to find a zone or group of mobs that drop what you want and farm them.

Q.) What’s the best way/how to I go about getting a legendary.
A.) You can craft one, which takes a lot of time and effort. Farming maps, getting the gifts needed and getting a precursor. Or you can buy one from the TP. The thing to consider is generally, all of the mats you need, plus the price of the precursor totals to the same amount you’d spend on buying one straight up.

Q.) Where’s the best place(s) to farm T6 mats?
A.) Right now Orr and Silverwastes. You can spend your Laurels and buy T6 bags from the vendor to help supplement your farming, but if you’re going for a legendary or Ascended gear, you’ll need those to buy patterns.

Hope that helps new players.

Bloodtide Coast ToT bag farm. It will make you 10g for every 30 minutes of farming. I can easily make 30g in an evening there while having time to spare for actual fun stuff.
