As the title says: If I have a level 80 toon, does the game allow me to jump to LWS2, HoT, or LWS3 at any time, and if so, can I switch back to where I was before I jumped forward? I have a new main toon (Revenant) who hasn’t beaten the level 80 Personal Story parts yet, but I really, really want to experience Rising Flames with her instead of my Scrapper.

Is this possible, or do I need to trudge through the hell that was LWS2 and HoT, as well as Out of the Shadows to get to Rising Flames…?

Yes, you can start Rising Flames and return to the other stories later. I did the new content on my ranger last night, and as soon as the episode was done the game automatically swapped back to my half-done main story line. I could have manually swapped back at any other point, though.

Yes, you can switch back and forth as you please using the story journal, without losing any progress.

If you’re only part way through a part I’m not sure if it saves your progress. Like if you did half of RF then jumped to something else, when you came back to RF you might have to start from the beginning.

But at long as there is a marker for where you are in the story you can go back to that marker at any time.

Where I am so far is the part where I need to kill the Eye of Zhaitan so I think it’s still the early part of the level 80 PS.

I think it’s fine if you stop/swap at the end of a sub-section/bulletin point within the episode. The points where you get a completion/reward pop-up. If you’re in the middle of a stage where you are just running around speaking to various NPCs or other non-instanced tasks you might lose that progress.
