I’m pretty sure that unlocking a skin of a precursor doesn’t affect the ability to craft it to a legendary…….but I just want to get confirmation before I do this.

Don’t hold me to this 100% as I have never even tried gathering mats for a legendary. But I do believe you can soulbind a precursor (which unlocks the skin) and still toss it in the Forge to make the legendary.

the only thing unlocking the skin prevents you from doing is selling or sending it to somebody else, after that the item is unaffected. also youll unlock the skin anyway once you throw it in the forge, but using the weapon or unlocking the skin will have no effect on your legendary

There are other precursor lookalike weapons you can get instead if you so wish.

Whether an item is bounded or not doesn’t matter. Whenever you put something into the mystic forge, you get an entirely new item. This new item will not be bounded unless it was coded to be that way. Legendary weapons were not coded to be this way.
