Guild Wars 2

Hello all.

I have to say that I really liked what was announced about Guild Halls these days.
Well done dev team!

Seeing how all these improvements to guilds are coming with the expansion I’d like to suggest one more that I’m pretty sure has come up in discussions already quite some times.

Is it possible to display the Guild Message of the day in the chat upon login/representation? My guild uses this feature mostly for announcements so it would be nice if every member noticed about them when coming online.

I have no idea how difficult this is to implement, although I’d assume that it is. It’s something that would be nice to have though.

Kind of like in GW1? I think that would be great. To me, the only limitation I see to that is, isn’t there a limitation to how long a chat message can be and not on guild messages? I wouldn’t mind having the maximum lengths match, though, so that this could be implemented, if that’s what’s necessary. In GW1 I enjoyed seeing my Guild Message of “:)” come up every time I logged in and I think my guildies liked it too

Yep, I’m definitely a big fan of this suggestion. Or better, since guild messages can be pretty lengthy, let us create a truncated message that’ll be shown in a member’s chat log when they log in.

I imagine many people never look at the message in the guild pane, so something like this would be great.

I totally agree. And I would add that, seeing the guild message at login as one of the yellow message that appaears in the middle of your screen (like during the events in Silverwaste) would give it high visibility.
