If I had to choose a single QoL feature that I would consider to be the best and most impactful to me as a player, it would be one of these two things.

1. Change the Basic Salvage Kits and the Copper Fed Salvage-o-Matic to have a 0% chance of recovering upgrades instead of a 20% chance.

or

2. Change your loot tables on 80+ mobs to drop the raw crafting materials instead of green, blue and rare items and move those unqiue skins to vendors instead.

Clearly, #1 seems to be the least work of the two and really accomplishes the same goal.

If GW2’s loot model is going to be a very small chance of getting an exotic or ascended item with a cool skin and a very large chance of massing up huge piles of garbage to salvage for scrap, let’s at least stop that garbage from creating more garbage for me to manage in my bags.

Mostly agree but you’ll still get the horde of people kittening about the “nerf”.

They are clearly “hoarders” and need to seek psychological help. Consider this to be an intervention.

Also I’ve been wanting something like the Auto Dismantler in Hellgate. It allows you to set it so that anything below a particular rarity get salvaged automatically on acquire. I was hoping that would be a feature of the Salvage-o-Matics when they were introduced but unfortunately that was not the case.

Well, I’d be happy if I could just manually blacklist certain loot so it doesn’t get picked up / is automatically destroyed on acquire.

I’d put minor sigils/runes in there, and the Aetherkey pieces, Enchanted Map Scraps and other random junk that keeps dropping even though you don’t need it anymore.

Not a bad option. I would appreciate that as well. Anything that keeps me playing the game.

I mean, the volume of loot types and items that drop is so high, that even with 20 slot bags, you dont go very long before having to stop and micromanage your bags.

I am neither a hoarder nor need psychological help; I just prefer being able to choose whether I want to have the runes|sigils or not, since I have never run out of bag space. Similarly, I prefer choosing whether to salvage, sell, or forge gear.

(I won’t be said if this change went through, I would prefer, however, that ANet work on any of 1,000 other QoL changes.)

I don’t mind getting the minor runes/sigils….it pays for using the salvage kit since I don’t sell mats, but I’ll happily vendor the trash for the extra coin.

Agreed. I still play Angband (showing my age possibly) and it had the most comprehensive item processing menu I’ve ever seen. For every type of item you could decide if you wanted to keep it or delete it. Something similar for sigils/runes would be awesome but it would take a bit of work.
