As someone who played the original Guild Wars, I would sacrifice my pancreas for the ability to adjust my user interface in GW2.

My ideal situation would be complete UI customization options like in Guild Wars, where you were able to adjust the size and placement of every fathomable notification on your screen. However, I’d love to be able to simple adjust the size of my target’s status bar, since the health bars of Champions seems to obscure the top fifth of my screen, and can make targeting ground-based skills a challenge.

ArenaNet, if you do this for me I will throw a pizza party in your honor. With balloons. And you can sell my pancreas on the black market for a fat stack of cash.

Edit: Originally, I had asked primarily for the ability to switch the current events with the minimap, but it turns out you can actually do that. Because, you know, I haven’t been playing GW2 since betas or anything like that. /facedesk

According to the wiki, you can already do that: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ui#Moving_of_permanent_elements

Well, I feel stupid now, because I tried forever to get that to work and it never did, so I assumed it wasn’t a present feature.

I’ll update my request. Thank you!

No need. =) I think you have to put your cursor in a particular area to get it to work.

I only knew about it because I’ve seen it on other player’s vids.

In Options – > Graphics → Interface size, you can change the size of all your elements (at once).

That is helpful, and I have mine set to small, but there are items in my UI that I’d like to be able to put at varying sizes.

Edit: For example, with small-scaled UI, the typeface in the Trading Post is very, very difficult for me to read, and some of it I can’t read at all. If I know I’m going to be in the TP for a while, then I have to readjust my UI size so that I can actually see what I’m doing, and that’s terribly clunky.

I would LOVE to have the ability to scale and resize and move each individual element of the UI. This by the way, seems to be default in most if not all games of this genre, so I do not understand why they dont do this in GW2.

Tongku i would love to have option to hide each individual element. For example in WvW i dont need quest frame.

Ah i thought it was just me that had this issue otherwise i’d use the smaller option but as you said the TP is really difficult to read.

Bumping again for awesomeness and brilliance.

Really though, better UI customization/sizing would be a huge QoL change for me, and I’m sure for many other as well.

All UI stuff should disappear from the top-right in PvP and WvW, except for achievements specifically tracked.

Or simply a ui options to “turn off achievement tracker” + “Turn off objective tracker.”. Also make the target UI hp bar/profile a ghost so you can left click to use ground target skills through them.

PLEASE don’t limit removing it to WvW and PvP. Part of the reason I finished the personal story was to get rid of the green text, and then dailies, monthlies and living world came and replaced it (and I still have the green text on alts). A simple “quest” tab or something like that (as in the original game) would do the job.

I don’t understand why they didn’t allow for the same flexibility as their original UI for Guild Wars.

Not that it’s the 1000th time this is being brought up.
And not that being able to personalize your UI will always be
100000000000000000000 times better than any automated
system that tries to guess what you want(I’m looking at you
Event Tracker).
I would pay 44,99 for a option to untrack any PS or LS related content
in the tracker. But that is too old school.(?)
And not that it’s highly unlikely we’ll get this, and even if we do,
it will be in the classic Anet fashion of taking what you ask,and
giving it to you in a (innovative) way that makes you regret asking
in the first place.
So +1,and see you in the next thread about UI customization in a AAA
MMO of 2015 AD.

Holy thread necro batman!

As a side note, the Content guide settings do not appear to actually work right now, no matter what I set it to my story still sits there at the top.

“The short answer is that new content is not going to drive people away from the game.
There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.” -AnthonyOrdon
