Yes, but the thing about skritt is … they don’t really have a civilization of their own, no, they ’’borrow’’ (although steal is a more accurate term) other peoples cultures and integrate them into their own in the form of manufactured goods. Although strangely the skritt do have skritt manufactured items, although the workmanship is often crude. As for the paintings, everything you can possibly ever imagine is REAL at some place, some how in an infinite multiverse.
Have you never noticed that certain foes/npcs/wildlife in gw1 and gw2 have “existed” already within some cultures mythology ? Naga , Fire imps , Krait , Kappa also take into account the “revenant” class which has ties to several myths – nordic and european myths have some form of revenants. Anet likes to “borrow” interesting “entities” and incorporate them into the game . Yes many of us europeans have no idea what a kappa is but asians will recognise them ( or most who actually live in the asian countries ) . Dragons are in alot of cultures myths – specially english , chinese have wyverns which could be said to be a relative of euro dragons. If of a curious nature its worth looking up some of the foe types and reading the background history and then seeing how anet does a wonderful job of bringing them to life within the gw universe
Great find! I can see the skritt under the bed yelling, “Shiney!!!!!!”
