Quality of Life updates that need to happen
QoL that needs to happen?
1. Being able to stack salvage kits if they equal 25, or heck, stacking multiple up to 250.
2. Being able to drop items into my guild bank and have them stack, not having to pull them out to organize would help.

I’m not the one who chose to add raid bosses on the open world.
ANet build the game and content. They are the ones that need to give us the system to play it optimally.

Thank you for not reading a single world of my post. There are a lot of things I feel need to happen (time since last login in guild info, for example) but when I put Quality of Life in the title it was meant to be about being able to play the content ANet just added without having to jump through hoops to have any shot at doing it.
Jade Quarry : 135/135
Overflow 1 : 135/135
Overflow 2 : 118/135
Overflow 3 : 40/135
Overflow 4 : 7/135
Yeah, i hope they will bring back the old districts system from GW1. Tbh, just high/medium/low would do, no need for exact numbers. Tb even more honest, just the ability to choose district/overflow would be enough.
This might actually be an answer. I particularly like the guild/private overflow, I suspect large guild who organise fights will make good use of that. Which should free up space on the maps.
I really hope Anet sorts out the server/overflow issues, tis frustrating.
But just being given the option to ~hop~ to another server while in map, where you know how busy each server is on the map, would be excellent.
I’ve thought about it and honestly I don’t think it would affect their server capacity too much to give us private instances of map for a guild.
They already give you a personal instance for Arah. Both story mode and exp mode are very large as it is.
At the end of the day, 135 people would be playing no matter what, just they would be in a different section basically.

You’re being anal about it. When I read your topic title, I figured same as Mr. DeBoer, this was a topic asking for QoL things you’d like to see.
When I opened it and read your post, I figured Overflow improvement was your QoL idea. Now, the floor is open for other QoL ideas.
If you wanted feedback/praise/criticism for your Overflow idea, then you should have said so.
“Another option that would be great for big guilds like say TTS, is to add an option to create your own private Overflow like an instance, and the only people allowed in would be people taxi’ed in AND people in the same guild.”
This increases server resources since it creates another copy of the map. It’s unnecessary and it would be extremely costly for Anet if a bunch of people decided to make their own private server. Not to mention, it would be a haven for bots.

I addressed this doubly in my post. It would be a guild unlock, like guild missions and such. It would cost a decent amount (and some guild tokens as well) and could only be activated in the same way as a guild mission. The chance of botters going through all that to get their own server, slim to none…
As for the resources, I get it but at the same time, you can already make your own map for Arah. That is huge, almost as big as an explorable. Granted the events in there aren’t the same (DE) but I don’t think it would suddenly take 10x as many resources.
And if it did, so what? ANet gave us content, but no optimal way to play it. I am suggesting what I think is a relatively easy way to change their overflow system into something great.

My thread title may not have been the greatest, fair enough. I thought my post made the subject obvious though.
Great suggestion, Kurr!
Now mine :p
1. ‘Sort’ function for bag and bank: clicking ‘sort’ will stack duplicates and group everything together (all weapons next to each other, all crafting mats etc)
2. Weapon switching for Ele’s
Kurr, you hit the nail on the head my friend. That type of GW1 server architecture is what ANet was founded around, literally.
The guys who started ANet were Blizzard devs you realized there was a better way to handle things. The resulting game, Guild Wars Prophecies, used an instancing system that made it possible to handle FAR more online players at one time than did an open-world. Turns out it is easy to pull up enemies, environments and NPCs, but much harder to account for players.
I am pretty disappointed that this aspect of gameplay is being handled so poorly in GW2. Seems to me that content is being rushed, without a whole lot of time for testing or brainstorming from the dev team or server administrators, like shudder recent Battlefield games.
Seeing the dozens of threads related to this issue, I thought I’d bump this because clearly a very large percentage of the player base are having issues with the overflow system this update and I still feel this proposal is the best an easiest solution.
Something I neglected to mention the first time around, as I wasn’t really aware of it since it’s not an issue in NA, is that OF on Euro servers randomly mixes people from SP, FR, GER and ENG servers. This causes havoc. Overflows on EU should be linked to your language, and in the drop down menu that should be there, you should see the language for an overflow you’re about to join.
I agree with this, for me the new content is unplayable. I will never wait 1 hour to play a 15 minute content or an unkillable boss in a video game, it’s a waste of my time.
Tried the Scarlett thing 5 times in overflows and it always failed, gave me bunch of loot that filled up two rows of my inventory without any explanation what it was for.
SAB was 1000 times better than this last update which only brought up the game flaws up front.
