Q:

In the April 2014 patch we won’t have to repair gear any more. Yay! But I am wondering what will happen to the unused Instant Repair Canisters sitting in our bags/bank?

A:

Your armour will still be damaged and you will after get it repaired but at no cost, now.

To offset it all those dynamic events you do, plus champion bags will reward you with less silver…

You WILL still need to repair gear, it just won’t cost anything.

I’d like to know the answer to this question as well.

But my guess is that they’ll just become useless (in the meaning of non functional) items that you can choose to keep. For instance, I still have these guys http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Captain's_Council_Commendation

Unless of course the update just makes repairs free, and stuff still breaks.

Why wouldn’t they still work? You can use them in the field without having to go find a repair merchant so they will still have some value.

Functionality remain the same. If you are to lazy to WP or you don’t wish to leave an instance, you still wanna use your canisters.

No cost to repair armor does not equate the notion of “armor no longer breaks.” Instead of it costing 1-3s to repair a piece of armor, it now costs ZERO. IRCs arent being removed because one of their most common uses are fractals where there are NO repair stops.

Ah, I see. I just misunderstood the changes to repairing armor.

Also, just a head’s up…but it’s totally possible to answer someone’s question (even one with a seemingly obvious answer) without being a jerk about it.
