Good question. I spent all my glory on tomes to level up all of my alts to 80.
I doubt the skins are based on rank. I’m sure it is just random in general.
I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

Are you talking about the gold silver and bronze rank chests? Those are based on rank each rank (rabbit, deer, etc) has 2-3 different armor/weapon sets that you get from the chests.

Ahh, those I don’t know… I would assume it is truly random, but there may be some skins excluded like the high ranking skins. Sorry can’t be much help on those.
It’s random, someone I know at R40ish got the runic blade which is basically the R70 pvp equivalent of an Infinite Light in PvE.

They have a very small chance to drop the rare weapons in PvP.
I got the PvP Gargoyle Scythe from one of them which is a pretty rare weapon in PvP but has a fairly common counterpart (Final Rest) in PvE.
