Guild Wars 2

I originally bought Guild Wars 2 to play with a few friends on an American server and ofcourse to see what the game was like, i came to really enjoy the game but due to the time difference, (UK – USA) there was hardly ever anyone online.

Now a few other friends are considering buying GW2 and demand it be on a UK server to so there’s no time gap between players, and that’s where the question of transferring comes in.

I know there’s a Transfer button on the character select screen when you click select Server, and i’d like to move to a European server, i remember when first starting the game it said i’d only be allowed to create chars on 1 server.

My question is: if i deleted my characters on the American server, would i be able to start new on a European server for free? or would i still need to pay the 1800 gems (£25ish) to transfer?

Yeah, you will be able to transfer for free. Make sure you salvage every soul bound items first and put those in your bank. Cause you will be able to transfer everything that is in your banks with you despite having no characters. You’ll be able to keep everything that is in your Wallet as well, and your achievements.

You can transfer to any server for free if you delete all your characters. Doesn’t matter if it’s US or EU.

If you delete all characters, you can move to any server (except those Full) free of charge. Remember, everything non-soulbound will move with you in your bank and wallet. Good luck on your new server.
