Say f my charator walked up to a little kid in Lion’s Arch and asked him what happened to Zhiatan what would he say? that the pact killed him? Or is he still flying around.

Lore wise, he’s dead. You destroy him at the end of Arah story mode.

At this time in the game he is dead. All the living story we are getting now are events ocurring after Zhaitan’s death.

Pretty sure I see him flying around when I enter Arah story mode… :| and that never changes…. He’s alive, but really… He’s dead… just alive in like a closet, dead outside….

Well, technically we don’t know that Zhaitan is actually dead.

We see him fall and assume, given the amount of damage he has already taken in Arah storymode.

I’d still like to see him return so I can shoot Trahearne into his mouth and watch the dragon choke on the blathering twig.
