Right before HOT came out we ran into PC problems, so I missed the first year of HOT and just got it a couple weeks ago. My highest character was/is my 80 Ranger, and I only do PVE. I was excited when Runes of the Trapper came out because of the stealth and running speed it could give me in the PVE world, and I actually went from 0-400 in crafting JUST to make these.

I see now that about a year ago (when I couldn’t play) they reduced the stealth from 3 seconds to 2 seconds, a rather significant drop. Apparently this was done because thieves were abusing it in WVW?

Anyway, I miss the extra stealth time for PVE and I’ve looked over the recent patch notes and here is my question. I see that they can adjust some skills to work differently between PVP and PVE/WVW? If I am understanding this correctly, then why can’t they make something like runes work differently between a WVW and PVE environment? For that matter, if thieves were the problem, you could even make them “Ranger Only” or adjust the stealth time for Thieves, couldn’t you?

Not a programmer here – just a casual player (no raids, dungeons, fractals, etc) curious why changes like this cannot be made more specific to target just the “offenders”, like they are doing for PVP. Thanks.
