Just a quick question about ascended armor, not sure where else I could put this.

So, I’ve got 3 characters right now, one of each armor type. I’m planning to eventually have other characters in the future. I have full ascended armor (not accessories) on my engineer, which are assassin stats. My questions are:

do most people get their ascended and send it between all their characters of that same armor type?

What about when you just hop on the other character on short notice, but you forgot to send over your ascendeds?

Or, do most people have a backup set of gear (rares/exotics) just in case they forget to bank the armor?

Also, for engineer the stats for armor are supposed to be assassin (according to metabattle), but for thief and ranger they are supposed to be berserker. Is anyone going to care about such a minor difference if they make me link my gear in a dungeon/fractal?

You can do whatever you want with the armor.

I doubt that most people would bother to switch the armors all the time. Ascended really isn’t that great of a bonus over exotic anyway. I would say put some exotic armor on your other characters while you decide if you want to craft their own ascended armors.

I would also recommend to not follow the “meta” because it’s “meta”. There are no runes that “should be” on any profession and the only people that will ask you to link your armor in dungeons are gold speed runners.

As someone who only plays one character, I can’t really say, but I think what I would do is just craft one ascended set for each char. It’s not too expensive (except for light armour),only a couple hundred gold per set. If you do not have the gold/mats at first I guess you could do what you are suggesting but over time I would craft multiple sets for the added convenience.

Another problem might be, as it’s assassin’s meta for now – on the next patch it might be that berserker’s is the new meta. and you’re “stuck” with assassin’s.

I’ve never heard about players moving armor between chars, I’d suggest get every class full ascended trinkets. Then it’s choosing or a matter of time which chars you wanna upgrade to ascended armor / weapons.

I think it’s also about character progression, for me at least. If I like the character enough, I upgrade their armor to ascended. That is why it’s only the 1/3 that has ascended; the other 2 aren’t as much fun :P

Hmm, accessories will all be berserkers, so it might balance out. I think the difference might be so small as to be negligible…..

even on the character that I do fractals on, I only have necklace, trinkets, etc. No armour or weapons. Too big of a time investment for not enough bonus, so I just don’t bother with ascended.

I’m crafting a full set of ascended gear for all of my characters simply because I favor the convenience of not having to remember to bank the gear every time I log out of a character and i want my character’s to look different from each other so most often I use cultural skins on my gear which prevents cross race swapping.

I’m getting a separate set of equipment for all of my chars. Trying to ship all this stuff between characters every time i decide to play on a different alt would be too iritating and waste too much time. Better to deck every character in exotics, and then work on converting it to ascended piece by piece (starting with weapons and accesories, leaving armor for last).
