Question about classes.
Based on that description, I’d say either Mesmer or Thief. It sounds like you want a class that is always on the move and requires a bit of concentration to master. Those two classes, in my opinion, most closely fit the bill.
Keep in mind, though, that you can customize just about any class to suit your preference. And also remember that each and every class in GW2 has its own unique game mechanics. If you’re just starting out, I’d highly recommend that you keep a character slot open to use as a “test” slot, and put in a few hours with each class to see how they work. You might be surprised to find that you prefer a more “repetitive” class to one of the others. I never really thought I’d like Guardian or Warrior, as in other games I found the heavy armor classes to be “boring tanks” in some way, but that’s really not the case here. Similarly, in most MMO’s I nearly always play a spellcaster as my main character, and the closest thing to that here would be Elementalist I think.. but I really don’t care for Ele as much as a lot of folks do. It all comes down to personal preference, and you won’t really know if you like something or not until you try it out.
Good luck! If you’re new to the game and have any questions, feel free to message me in game. I’m by no means an expert but I’m happy to help where I can. And welcome to GW2.

My advice, try engineer or elementalist.
They’re some of the more versatile professions, meaning they have more variety in their builds that are viable. With much more complicated kits than the other professions.
Here is a break down for you
Simple to play
Warrior Ranger guardian Rev
Medium to play
Elle, Thief Necro and Engi
Hard to play
Mesmer
The mesemer however is stupid and the game play is bad, their best skill is a portal for taxining to spots others can not get to, they are more often then not squishy or they just hide a lot in the shadows
the most versatile with DPS and everything else is the ranger, it had a high number of wepons it can use DPS is god condi is better and you have a pet but do not become a druid if you become a druid it is pointless and you have just killed your ranger and become nothing more then a new type monk from gw1
My initial thought would be Elementalist, Engineer or Mesmer. Like others have said I would highly suggest making characters to try out the classes. If you go into the PVP lobby you can experiment with all of a class’s skills and traits without having to level up or spend points. I believe you can purchase different weapon types from an NPC inside for free, but it’s been a while.
I think you can enter as early as Lv2 (after completing the introductory mission) once you’ve unlocked it for your account, which the wiki says is at Lv22 but I thought it was closer to 10. If nothing else it will let you experiment with the different mechanics of each class and see which you’d like to explore further.
