But do you know if there will be anything more than that? Like maybe purchasing 8000 for some epic skins and what-not?
Nope, based on the information we have the mini is the highest tier so to speak.

There wont they would have announced if there was going to be a 8000gem tier.
I do think this type of promotion is disgusting and will end up hurting them in the long run. The better solution would have been to reward anyone who bought gem’s in the last 6months instead of only a select few for a single month (December)
@lordkrall Alright then, even though I’m sort of disappointed lol. Thanks for the answer though.
@angelpaladin. I agree with you with the latter of your statement but this kind of promotion does help motivate some people to buy gems for some free items. I thought they would of given away a little bit more though.

You mean like they have been doing earlier (and might do again)?
The thing is that when it is something as unique like this (all other gifts have been stuff available in the store) they would get a massive kittenstorm if they didn’t announce it ahead of time.
And lets be honest now, ArenaNet is a business, they need to make money and this a rather good way of doing so, especially since it doesn’t in anyway or form actually effect the game itself.

@lordkrall Agreed. It’s kind of hard to make everybody happy when you are dealing with business.

That is true but you also have backlash of people like me who wont buy gem’s anymore. I guess thats a balancing act to figure out.
And for all those people that won’t buy gems anymore due to this (which is most likely a rather small number) they are getting 4000+ gems purchased for all those who took up the offer.
So in the end I would assume they earn more money.

Except then you’d have a lot of angry mini pet collectors when they find out that they’ve missed out on a mini Mr Sparkles for the 3rd time because Anet didn’t tell them about the promotion in advance.
It was fine with the Holo mini pack and the kite because both those items were available in the gem store so if you didn’t get it free you could just buy it. But I can’t see them ever selling Mr Sparkles in the gem store.
