Let’s say I had a greatsword with a superior sigil of bloodlust applied to it, and my other weapon set has a sword with a superior sigil of stamina applied to it.

Do I have to get a kill with a particular sword for its sigil’s ability to activate, or do the effects of both sigils activate when I kill an enemy in general?

I’m only asking because the descriptions for the sigils say “each time you kill a foe.” instead of “each time you kill a foe with this weapon.”

It’s weapon-specific. When you have your Greatsword out, Bloodlust is in effect. When you have your sword out, Stamina is in effect.

Really, really important note: Any sigil with a cooldown initiates a global sigil cooldown. For example, if you use Sigil of Air on your sword and you score a critical hit which sets off the lightning bolt, the internal cooldown on that sigil activates. It’s five seconds. If you switch to a weapon with Sigil of Battle in that five second cooldown, you WILL NOT activate the sigil even though it is supposed to work on weapon swap.

I think you have to kill the foe with the weapon that the sigil is on.

from my experience and hearing from others, for stacking sigils at least, you don’t have to have actively killed the foes to get a stack, you just need to be using that weapon, in OP’s case, his Greatsword equipped / active, when the mobs and foes die.

so he could do the needed damage to get “credit” for the kill on his other weapon set. switch to GS before they die, and when they die, he’ll get the stack for Bloodlust, i.e. the weapon that was active or wielded at that moment.

and i assume the opposite would work as well. as you did enough dmg on your great sword, you dodge, you swap to sword set, foe dies, you should get your endurance bar filled for Stamina.

and just to add.. iirc, you can’t have two on-kill sigils equipped in a mainhand and offhand set. only the mainhand effect will trigger in that case. and you can’t stack different sigils. so if you stacked bloodlust, got one stack, and then switch to other weaposn with for e.g. perception or life, those won’t stack at all until you get rid of your bloodlust stack.

What if I had dual swords with Sigil of stamina and Superior Sigil of Restoration on the other, would those work together okay?

Also, if I got 25 stacks of power from the superior sigil of bloodlust on my greatsword, and then switched to my dual swords, would those stacks of power stay even with the sigils on my dual swords?

For the stamina/restoration combo only the one in the main hand weapon will trigger.

For things like bloodlust you will keep the stacks if you swap or unequip the weapon. The only way to lose those stacks is changing zone/logging out/being downed/defeated. Some people have the bloodlust sigil on one weapon to build stacks then replace it with another once they reach 25. I do that when I wear my magic find set(bloodlust stacks to make up for some of the lost power)
