if you want an answer to a specific question, submit a ticket. The game developers have better things to do than be at the beck and call of players with unimportant questions

Your expectations seem unrealistic to me. The amount of staff that would be needed to be on call to answer tedious, trivial questions within a 24 hour time frame would be enormous.
They most certainly dont comment on future plans on the forums, unless that info was already officially released.

Threads sometimes get commented on and sometimes someone like Gaile will answer policy questions, such as whether something is against the TOS, but they have never answered specific questions of your type about future content. In addition to what others have stated above, I’ll point out that this line right here just about guarantees no dev will ever say word one in your thread. Check out the forum stickies on “constructive feedback” and such to see why.
