Question for Long Term Players
No, you may wanna check your account security!
Can you be more specific? How many slots did you have before, and how sure are you of the number, do you have a screenshot showing how many you originally had? Did you buy HoT? At what tier? Older accounts get one character slot for buying the upgrade to base HoT, and another if they buy Deluxe or Premium upgrades.
Did you ever buy extra slots, maybe? I don’t know if that would be in your Gem Shop history or not at this point.
Did you buy HoT? Depending on the version you could get up to 2 slots.
What does a “buttload” more character slots mean? If you bought HoT you should have 1-2 extra slots and multiple beta slots (I have 4 of them).
If you got them otherwise well enjoy them I suppose.
Not normal, REALLY not normal.

There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.” -AnthonyOrdon
I played GW2 when it first came out, played for a year, then set it down. I came back recently and started playing again.
I’ve just noticed that I have a buttload more character slots! Have accounts been getting them for each year of existence? Each time a new expansion or event comes out? Or is it some freakish anomaly, and now the GW2 account monitors are going to take them away?
Any enlightenment?
You get 2 from preordering HoT and you also get 4 (temporary) beta slots. The beta slots look a little different to the regular ones and they should be fairly obvious.
If this isn’t the case, follow what other people have said already and make sure you really secure your account.
@Crimson Clouds – Ah, that’s it. I thought I only got one from the preorder, not 2, and I didn’t examine the others until now.
My account appears secure, and thanks for all the concern, everyone else!
Thanks all!
