I believe I read something somewhere, but I havent managed to find it again.
It was about gear.

That if you unlock a certain set on lets say character A, that you will have access to that set with character B as well.
Which would reduce the need of having to refarm on new characters.

Does this make sense to anyone?
Does someone know what I am talking about?

I am still diving into the game to get to know how stuff works and it might be something that I have dreamed though, I dunno :P.

Probably ‘Ascended’ gear then. Ascended gear takes a while to craft (though can also be obtained as a drop from champion bags, world bosses and PvP reward bags AFAIK).

Ascended gear, however, is the top gear in the game and is account bound rather than soulbound. This means that you can freely move it around between your characters, provided they are from the same armour class (light, medium, heavy).

If you need more information about it, this is a link to the wiki!

You do unlock the skins (looks) of gear account-wide when you use (in some way) armor and weapons. This is done through the Wardrobe, and then usually costs Transmutation Charges subsequently.

You can read more about the Wardrobe in the Wiki via the link above.

Good luck.

So Ascended and Exotic gear is “Account bound” Exotic is account bound on equip and Ascended is account bound on acquire. These items can be moved between characters using the bank. So say you made a full set of Exotic/Ascended gear that is Light armor for your Elementalist and you wanted to make a Necromancer you could move all that gear to your Necro through the bank.

Also there is skins for armor that you unlock by equipping/dismantling and all of that is shared through wardrobe account wide.

If you are talking about appearance purposes there is also the wardrobe. Every time you get a new piece of gear that you haven’t had before and you bind it to your account or your character (salvaging works also) it get’s stored in your wardrobe. You can then use transmutation charges to apply the look of that gear to your current gear (has to be the same type of gear, light, medium, heavy).

Exotic gear is not account bound. I don’t know where you got your information from. Ascended gear is account-bound but exotic gear once equipped is soulbound.
