Guild Wars 2

So I have enough now to deck 1 of my toons out in ascended gear, but I have some questions.

1. What’s the difference between an offensive, defensive, and utility slot?
2. Do all ascended items give agony resistance, cause I can’t see the AR on the stats.

Wiki is your friend. Make sure you don’t buy the same item twice as ascended items are unique.
