Questions about Condition changes
1. Will retaliation be changed? it seems odd to say confusion is fickle but make no changes to retaliation
Retaliation isn’t a condition and its damage isn’t based on condition damage, so why would it be changed?
2. Will necromancer’s epidemic be changed or left the same? As a necro i’d love for you to leave it, but I suspect a more balanced approach would be to spread only the necros conditions.
Good question. They may add a cap on how many stacks epidemic will spread or they won’t change at all and the necro can take advantage of a target with tons of cond stacks.
3. Will condition duration still be capped at 100%?
Probably yes, they are already rising the intensity cap, make it last even longer could be overkill.
4. Will a “zerker” equivalent for condition users be added (Condition Damage, Condition Duration, Precision)?
Who knows? Hopefully yes.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Another question.
Are there going to be adjustments to conditions in WvW? Condition builds are already used by the majority of PvP-focussed players there because of their reliable DoT. These changes will make them significantly more powerful, to the extent that other builds are shut out.
So, straight to the point
Just read about changes due to condition damage in HOT and what i saw …

In order to make these skills (means different conditions) more reliable in combat and prevent unintended behavior, we’ve normalized them so that movement-speed increases or decreases do not impact the distance traveled by your character.
I have one simple question – Why are they doing this? 1st ArenaNet makes trait system much more simple with no chances to player use their own variations of lesser/minor/great traits instead of picking 3 of 5 trait lines. Now they making condition dmg based on your characters stats – ok, that will do, but who’s idea was to destroy life-based combat system when crippled foe can jump forward (or so) the same distance as like no cripple affecting him? same thing with swift – when you can jump further if you’re running on high speed. Today. we’re using cripple and freeze to lower foe’s movement so he could not escape and to have advantage in close/range combat. Due to currently changes – guards, thives, warriors and whoever has leaps and etc. will no longer be bothering in their movement during combat which makes cripple 50% uneffective then before, freeze also.
Great job Arena.
I can be wrong. it’s normal from other points of view, but THIS change in conditions changes, i would never implement.
Be aware…these changes are not linked to the release of HoT, but an upcoming patch.
Also, there is a current thread discussing these changes…both pro and con.
Good luck.
