Q:

First I would like to start out by saying that I dont have any sort of agenda with this post. I also understand that some games just are not for everyone. I just want to know the devs plans before I decide if I should move on or stick it out.

My questions are simple and I understand that the answers may be complex but I hope that the devs will be forthcoming.

1. Are dungeons always planned to just be token grinds for armor skins or do you plan to itemize them for progression? I.E. armor with better stats than you can just purchase with some form of currency.

2. Do you plan on putting any group content into the overworld? I dont mean DEs but something where you would actually have to group with other people to complete. I.E some form of quest, be it story or otherwise.

Currently really these things are really the only thing that is holding me back from going all in on this game, however they are two very huge issues to me. I feel that grouping in this game is actually counter productive in the over world. The other night I was grouped with my brother doing a heart quest for example, it did not provide any benifit other than being able to see him as a blue dot on my map. He was killing things as an archer before i could even get my guardian there. I didnt get any completion from his kills, thus making me a hiderance to his leveling. Other than not grouping I actually have fun leveling but doing it alone is bound to get boring in short order.

The DE’s dont really make me feel like I am part of the group. On my 80 ele I just sit there and cast aoes and run around so I dont die. It doesnt feel like I am participating in anything as there is a zerg there to back me up.

Dungeon trash seems like it is a huge issue as well, its something I could live with if I wasnt just in the instance for tokens.

I understand there are going to be people in this thread calling me a troll, and that “if you dont like it go back to wow”. I just feel like this game could be alot better with a few changes.

So in the end, I really dont mine leaving and “going back to wow” which really isnt where I would go anyway, but I would love to have a game that I can actually play when I feel like it instead of something I log into to pointlessly wander. So let me know, is this your vision of the game(which I totally understand if it is), or can I expect bigger things down the road?

Armor with better stats would make it a gear treadmill, not gonna happen in this game. If you are wanting better stats you are definitely in the wrong game. Maybe the panda is for you?

1. There is not going to be a gear treadmill. It’s one of the key ideas of the game; everyone plays at an equal level, so the gameplay becomes more about skill the item grinding.

2. Not sure what you mean by the overworld? But grouping is not something you are forced to do in Guild Wars 2, but something you do because it adds to the experience. Just like in the real world, if you want to have fun with other people, you need to talk with them first. Hang around other players, talk in chat, and ask people you find fun if you can join their guild.
