Guild Wars 2

Hello everyone, i’ve taken a break from GW2 shortly after the launch of HoT, love the game… i was maining a thief, and even though i was really excited for the Daredevill….it felt really weak and even more fragile than before. I always enjoyed the high risk high reward playstyle…but with daredevill it seemd all the risk and no reward.

My questions to you guys are those.

*What is the state of the game, regarding more the PvE side of things…
*How does the Thief handle raids….is there a new build? something better than at the beggining…
*Should i just give up and change my class? after all the time(1000+ hours) and money(legendary, ascendend, all kinds of dyes,skins and cosmetics…) i invested in my beautiful thief…. should i just cut my losses?
*Any advices for returning player.

I don’t do raids, but I use daredevil in PvE and love.
I’ve done HoT up to Dragon Stand, and WvW and fractals with daredevil.

Well can you recommend me a good build?

I haven’t’ been a guild player since I started. Just last night I was thinking about it to help get some ascended accessories using guild commendations. So I’m still considering whether I should join one.

Unfortunately thief/daredevil isn’t really wanted in raids right now. There’s other classes that do what thieves do (power dps) but also outputting more support while being innately tankier. Thieves’ strengths (mobility / stealth) don’t really contribute that much to raids.

Maybe in a few months they’ll be top tier again, who knows.

and what classes are wanted now in Raids? besides…warrior

There is going to be a balance patch sometime in January. I would wait until after that to see how theif fairs in raids before making changes. But in the mean time you could look at moving your ascended armor onto something like engi or Druid. Viper Engi does well in the current meta however it isn’t the best for the last raid boss but people will still take it. A healer is needed for all the raid bosses currently.

But yeah wait until this balance patch hits. My guess is it will be closer to the end of the month.

Edit: Viper is expensive to “make” even from exsistonf ascended armor because of black diamonds. So if you end up going that route you won’t want to change your armor back to something better for theif if their ends up getting buffed and back in the meta. Changing your armor to a healer spec and back to zerker again wouldn’t be too much of a huge gold sink.
