With the August reveal/announcement of the newest GW2 expansion right around the corner, I cannot help but wonder. Are we getting new reveals? Or are we just getting a petty confirmation of the same content we got leaked back in May?

However, we still don’t know about the new enemies, bosses, adventures (or similar features), Raids. We don’t know about any enhancements or expanded development of Guild related content, PvP and/or WvW. Or if there’s finally going to be a new playable race (which everyone has been dying for basically since release and keep getting ignored).

So, what exactly do people expect to see this next Tuesday? I personally hope there’s a lot of details of each leaked feature, since we’ve already known of the existence of arguably the most important new additions of the expansion for a LONG time. And hopefully a big surprise to justify why such a huge amount of content got leaked, and there was never an official reveal until now.

Also I didn’t include any images or big details about the leak to prevent any kind of problems in the forums. Although, it’s entirely ANET’s fault if a leak so huge was out before hand and still decided to pretend it’s a """secret""" until a few months later.

More elite spec details would be nice.

I really don’t care what’s in the announcement other than a date & a schedule for reveals. Anything else is gravy.

And no, I don’t think ANet needs to offer any surprises at all. They are, like LucasFilms or GoT/HBO, entitled to keep as much or as little secret as they like, regardless of whether someone broke NDA to leak details. It’s their business & they get to decide, regardless of whether I support their choices or not.

You’re heavily assuming the leaked info is 100% accurate… in may well be, but it also may well not be and that info based on old info. Yes stuff like elite class weapons have been pretty consistent, but more specific details will easily change like abilities/etc.

I wouldn’t expect patch note level detail – but the broad strokes of things like – all new elite classes (not just saying new elite classes facepalm ), new race or not, new land area, mounts? All that.

Not gonna expect release of elite detail all skills/etc. if ppl are, prepare to be disappointed. I HOPE to eat crow on that Id love to eat many crows

I agree I hope it’s not lame simple confirmations. I also hope for a set release date that’s sooner than later AND a price AND what current HoT owners get if anything, like discount off new xpac? Please no special dye or pet if you own HoT…… eh

They only scheduled 30 minutes for their Twitch reveal, so don’t expect much. They’ll likely talk a bit, about how development went, show the missing trailer and give some thoughts. PAX is September 1st, so I wouldn’t be surprised to only see the trailer ending in that.

I wouldn’t call it “petty” if the info is a duplicate of the leaks, or close to one. It’s not their fault someone seriously trashed the NDA and stole their thunder, nor should they have to give up yet more juicy details that they’d prefer to keep for happy surprises.

If a high school graduate learned in advance she was getting a car as a surprise for her graduation dinner, would her parents then be obligated to go find a better more expensive car, or a separate equally valuable gift, just so she could still be surprised?

That said, I’ve done my best to avoid the bulk of the leaks because I want the surprise. But I couldn’t avoid knowing that the elites were leaked and catching wind of the expected weapons for each, so I admit I’m hoping they not only tell us what they are but give us video of them in action since none of the leaks that I know of included moving pictures. I did love the vanilla profession reveals.

I just hope there’s similar toothsome amounts of footage showcasing the elites for current fan video makers to use.

I hope the announcement only shows what the huge moron already leaked. I personally haven’t looked into the leaks so from the tiny amount I have accidentally seen I am good with finally officially hearing about it.

I expect them to not really say anything about the elite specs, other than they’re coming.

By releasing information on them one at a time, one each week, that’s 9 weeks of hype while we wait for the expansion. It’s a good way to keep excitement going, without having to give out too much about the maps or plot.

The quick answer is we will find out on the 1st. I doubt anyone is going to tell us much before then.
