I apologize if this is the wrong section to put this in, but something recently has been bothering me as I’ve been watching some streamers play thief.

I’ve begun to notice that they’re able to directly open the traits tab and effortlessly switch between their dodges, mainly Dash and Bound.

It does not seem as if they’re simply pressing “H”, then moving their mouse over, clicking on the traits tab, and then switching traits. It seems more as if the window opens directly to traits, their mouse is already hovering over the trait, the trait is swapped and the window is closed. Almost no time at all, which I would love to do as well since switching between Dash for mobility and roaming, and Bound for when I need to get into combat seems very useful.

I’ve tried asking in game but no one seems to be able to answer this for me. Is there a way open the traits window directly? Or maybe there’s a button to switch between tabs in the Hero menu?

Simple or not I just want to find out how people are doing this. Thank you for your time.

You don’t have to open the traits window to swap out skills. If you look at the skillbar you’ll see an up arrow above each skill. you can click on that and show skill you can use in that slot. So if you remember what skill you want looks like and where it is on the graphical menu. its just 2 fast clicks away from swapping.

They’re likely using a macro.

Would that not be against the ToS? I don’t know if I’d want to resort to macros.

That would be against the ToS, yes. If you were to report them, with a link to the video, they might find life less fun.

but w8 arent traits and skills the same thing? OMG the game isnt clear enought and i strugle dealing with that.

Assuming you’re not sarcastic:
Skills are the stuff at the bottom of your screen – 5 from your weapons, 1 heal, 3 utilities and 1 elite.
Traits are the stuff from Specializations, which you slot in three rows in your Hero panel. They often, but not always, modify skills.

Haha! You know, he’s not been seen since. In-game or out.

@OP, yes most macros are against the ToS. You could use the in-game reporting feature, and choose ‘Botting’, and the GMs will investigate.

Also, anything that “gives an advantage over other players” is a ToS problem too, and that includes a mechanism to switch your trait super-fast so you can take advantage of different options, while regular players gotta clicky-clicky much slower.
