RIP Stack sigils
What I want to know is if you have a bloodlust sigil on one of your weps, can you still have a second wep with BL to stack faster and swap out of the second one and retain the stacks. If so, the change won’t make a huge difference.
I hate paying out the nose for sigils and runes, so this wouldn’t bother me.
What I want to know is if you have a bloodlust sigil on one of your weps, can you still have a second wep with BL to stack faster and swap out of the second one and retain the stacks. If so, the change won’t make a huge difference.
Example:
Necromancer
Weapon Set 1
- Main Hand – Axe with bloodlust
- Off Hand – Focus with bloodlust
As it is now:
Killing one enemy with this set equipped grants 2 stacks of bloodlust.
Kill 13 enemies and you hit the 25 stack limit.
Replacing the axe with a scepter that has a different sigil will allow the stacks gained from the axe to remain.
As it will likely be:
Killing one enemy with this set equipped grants 2 stacks of bloodlust.
Kill 13 enemies and you hit the 25 stack limit.
Replacing the axe with a scepter that has a different sigil will cause the stacks gained from the axe to be lost, leaving you with just the 12 (or 13) stacks of bloodlust that were gained from the focus.

If that is how it will work, i.e., track BL per weapon it will make a big difference. But people who ran predominantly 2-handed weps will not care, before they just had a GS with BL and one with something else. Now they can just have both on the same wep and not have to switch all the time.
They won’t stack with the same type anymore, I believe, so you’d have to kill 25 enemies.
I havent read about this anywhere but here, so i dont have much info but…. ill soon be making a ranger alt, i was going to put a precision or strength rune (ive forgot the name but the one that stacks as mentioned above) on a bow, use the bow at the start of a fight then when the mob got close, id use my sword.
Will the buff now disappear when you change weapon?
They won’t stack together but will give 5 stacks per kill in all game modes. But you’re better off (at least in PvE) using a Sigil of Force or dungeon appropriate sigil
Isn’t 250 Power more than 5% DPS to most builds?
For people who ran 2-handed weps before it will be a both and situation not either/or. For those who ran 1-hand with BL + something else and then swapped, you will have to make a choice. Unless the stacks stay as long as one of your weps has BL, then it won’t change anything very much.
I for one will likely run BL on one wep and force/night or something on the other for dungeons. If you keep BL as long as any single wep you have has BL, then my sigil set-up won’t change at all.
As for 5 stacks/kill, that is only when you kill players.
I wonder if they will change it to lose stack on defeat and not on downed, like they did for applied strength, etc. in WvW.
you people are forgetting 2H weapons are also getting 2 sigil slots.
I plan to test
1 gs with night / force
1 gs with bl / night
1 gs with fire / air
1 with bl / fire
1 with bl / air
see which gives me the best results under which situations.
