I’ve read in the Wiki that one can earn up to 25 Tyria Mastery Points (TMP) doing Hero/Race Achievements. So i started a Human (I have only a lvl 80 Norn character) to earn more TMP. After the lvl 10 Personal Story i got the “Crime and Punishment” achievement but none TMP. Do those Race Achievements really reward TMP? Or do I have to level my human character up until lvl 80 and do all personal story to gain those TMP? Or in the worst case scenario, do we only get TMP from one race?

Anything that awards a Mastery point will have an icon in the rewards category. Red for central, green for HoT. So if there’s no icon, you won’t get a mastery point.

Yeah, I know that. But what is awkward is that under the Achievement Point you can see the Mastery Point symbol.

Same for me. I finally did my charr personal story and I still haven’t earned any points that are tied to the story achievements.

Are these the first time EVER that you have done these or have you done them previously?

If you did these with human/charr toons a long time then you will already have the point awarded.

It seems many are missing Tyria Mastery Points. They may be from the Personal Story.

Mastery points, like mastery ranks, are account bound because they are tied to achievements. As you showed us the screenshot of the UI, we can see that it shows 1/1 achieved so you already have that mastery point.

Otherwise they would be farmable in one area of the game (jumping puzzles?) By repetition on alts, and the point of “mastery” is mastering various aspects of the game, I guess.

I guess if you like fractals you can get a lot of points on fractal achievements and spend them in fractal line, to “master” fractals you can do some fractals. Makes sense.

Doesn’t really explain why you get points for collecting spoons though, which I would spend on legendary crafting. Two seem unrelated.

And don’t even get me started on the ascended skins grind. Just no.

No I had never done the achievement before. I tried it out by making a human and completing the level 10 achievement which I never had. I did get the achievement but did not get a mastery point.

Problem seems to be that when unearned it shows no mastery point. However, when you earn it it shows a mastery point on the panel. The wiki says it should grant you a point, and most people say they have been awarded points retroactively for these achievements. Either people got awarded quite a few points that were unintended and that can not be earned now, or they were mistaken on what they got the points for. Possibly the awarding of the points for race story missions is bugged at the moment. Seems like a bug but time will tell.

I opened a ticket and filed a bug report because I am missing a dozen mastery points. I would suggest other people do the same (use the wiki, I get different achievements lists with a non-HOT alt and my HOT main).

Wait so how many mastery points should an account have with one level 80, full map completed (excluding Dry Top and upwards), Full personal story completed.

I have a few other toons too, 1 80 Sylvari Ele about in the 70s on her story.

I have 1 complete Priory, One complete Whispers, And one joined into The Vigil.

And a BUTTload of achieves done.

So how many should I have? Cuz I had 15 when I logged in on HoT update day.

Also I’ve perused the wiki, and I can’t find where it says we can actually get all our mastery points from…. links plz?

nvm I found the acheives with it listed, looks like 25 total for Tyria General Achieves that you can get. I haven’t done dungeons or 3 charr story’s from General so I’m 4 shy, and should have 21 from that section alone. Which makes me 4 shy right now, and I’ve earned at least 1 more if not 2 since HoT launch.

That’s not including the other achieves.

Of note. The Wiki says we get them on certain stories For Example: Blooding the Past and From Howl To Silence. However viewing these in game(I don’t have them) does not say that it will award a Mastery Point once completed. It’s not included in the list anywhere for those stories.

Our missing points are most likely from those achievements.

To give you an idea I should have had 25 and my account is a year (and about 2 days) old. That is without doing the living story or fractals, both of which have a lot of mastery points.

So I went through and added all of the achievement ones up one by one by going through every achievement I have. I should have 27, but I have 17 including the 3 I’ve spent. I also know there are a couple that you gather on maps. I believe I’ve collected one of those. So I’m actually 11 shy.

I’m going to wait on reporting it for a week or so. I expect this is an issue they are aware of and working on fixing.

When I went through and looked, Story Achieves that I have done have the Mastery point listed when you click and view. However the 3 charr ones I have not completed do NOT have one listed either on the first page, or after I click to view.

Maybe some of the story ones are borked and others aren’t? I don’t know cuz I definitely have more than 11 story’s done, so I have at least some of them. However all that I’ve gotten do show a mastery point on the viewing page.

Also I would SWEAR that there are a few Mastery Points that you can collect out in Tyria Proper. Was I hallucinating? I can’t find them on the map now…

I have bug reported this yesterday. Using the wiki I counted up what I should have against what I did have and came up 8 short.

i had 44 when i logged in on launch.
1 of each race, 1 of each order, 100% map completion
not sure what else should be giving it offhand. but thats what i have

edit: looking through the list: stuff stated above, bosses, teq, TT, 6/7 of the SW ones, and a few fractals

Hopefully not the latter! Since I followed the ‘play your way’ philosophy the personal story was a biggie for me! While, for example, it is great if you do fractals they did not show the same amount of love to other modes of playing.

When I contacted them they said they could not guarantee when it would be done …. hopefully soon as it puts me a few points short of what I need for my last level of pact commander. I had not done the PS on my norn but did not get a point after the chapter, so am now leery of working for anything else that could give me a mastery point until this is fixed.

Please contact them sooner rather than later. If it is just me filing a formal report this will probably take a long time to fix.

When you say contact them, do you mean making a bug report or something else?

I ask, because I have already send in a bug report, but if there is more I can do, I would like to do so.
I am missing 14 Mastery points, so I guess it’s obvious why I would like it fixed :)

Just bought a character Slot to make Charr Story for master points, and did not
get one for the level 10 Story, even if it is shown. Still have only 2 like i had before

Nope .. the chest was for 14.000 achievement points.

Any news on this? Bugged or working as intended?

Support answerrd its a known bug, they work on it and i should look for upcoming
patchnotes.

I asked then if i get them retroactively and if i could continue with my story or better
not, and they said yes but i should better wait and not continue before its fixed.

I hope they also fix it for completed achievements, since I had to start over on a new account and didn’t even realize they should have awarded mastery ;)

A dev posted in another thread a couple of days ago on the situation. The way I understand their message, you do in fact only get one mastery point per level of story finished, regardless what race/order you finish that story arch with. So a level 10 human storyline and a level 10 norn storyline only reward one point total (on whichever story you finish first).

Just as a heads up, the Mastery Points for Personal Story are awarded on a per-chapter basis. So once you complete Chapter 1 and earn the Achievement for it, you’ve earned the Mastery Point for Chapter 1. This includes each different starting storyline: I believe the right names are: Graduation Day, For The Legion!, Crime and Punishment, Rising to the Challenge, and Waking from the Nightmare. Similarly, whichever Order you join, there’s just one Mastery Point there.
Hopefully this helps clarify the total number of Mastery Points you should be expecting from your previous accomplishments in Tyria. That said, the different stories really are fantastic, and should definitely be experienced, but for your own pleasure, and not for Mastery Points.
If any of you still think you are missing MPs from Achievements you’ve completed, let us know via the in-game Bug Report tool and we’ll try to identify if there’s a bigger issue happening.

Only that we can count our points and see if we click on the achievements that
we got for example 1 or lvl 10 human, 1 for lvl 10 norn and another for lvl 10 asura.

Also i noticed 2 days ago that i suddenly had again 3 instead 2 mastery points and
don’t know from where, so not sure if there was a ninja fix.
