Does anet plan on adding this? I feel like it would be to complicated for the team to implement this because of the storyline and previous purchased T1-3 cultural gear, but I am at the point now I would pay $20-25 in gems for a race change because my characters are already level 80 and waste deep in soulbound gear.

Right now I have:
Human Ranger
Asura Warrior
Sylvari Elementalist
Charr Thief

I Want:
Asura Ranger
Charr Warrior
Human Elementalist
Human Thief

Would be nice if a red could respond on if this is “planned” or not in the future.

I haven’t heard any plans plus it’d be hard to do considering race is tied into your story

Yeah they have said that it would be very diffecult to do because of the tie both to your story and your skills.

I think the only way to be able to do it would be to ONLY allow it when you’re level 80 and done your storyline, and also that it wipes any racial skills you have permanently.

For continuity it could be some special race changing potion you drink or something.

I am in the same boat as you, and agree with TabMorte, only if you are finished with your storyline can you change, it takes that part out of the programming.

I think they should add race changes for people level 40+ or something (where the race storyline doesn’t matter).

It could be like creating your character all over again, but this time in the race you want. And for cultural armors just add a vendor that switches armor pieces to the correct race. Example: Norn changes into a human and has T3 cultural armor, the T3 norn cultural chest piece can be exchanged for a T3 human cultural chest piece and so on. It’s not hard, and it would be bring loads of money to ANet.

I would love to switch my sylvari mesmer to a norn mesmer…not worth losing 20g+ in dyes though, so please add this

They said a long time ago they wouldn’t be adding in anything to change your race (and have repeated it multiple times).
