Q:
Race, Proffesion, and Holiday
Thanksgiving is a specifically US holiday, so you’re unlikely to see it in game. Christmas and Halloween are celebrated in most countries where GW2 is sold, which is why having them in game makes sense.
To add to what Foxx said; there is very little space in between Halloween and Christmas in the game. Adding another holiday in that time period just doesn’t work.
This has also bothered me, the amount of holiday and special events in GW1 ( ok it did have 3 continents ) compared to GW2 but GW1 only has 1 playable race so surely there should be more “festivals” in GW2 , not that the Norn need an excuse to party but why no celebrations of their totem animals ? 1 example
A festival of the Bear could include a homage to the Kilroy brass knuckle dungeon where you go in fight your way to the end for “the Golden keg”
not to mention from GW1
The international talk like a pirate day with bottle of grog random drops
ST Patricks day , shamrock ales and 4 leaf clovers ( could add 100 points or so to luck for example of be crafted for those with max luck )
Easter ,chocolate bunnies and golden eggs .
why not also celebrate the accomplishments of GW2 like the annual celebration of the defeat of Zhaitan ( erm spoiler??? )
I’m sure there are plenty more ideas out there and more creative to boot
Ok, but a lot of those GW1 holidays only added unique drops. There weren’t actually any decorations or anything for them. GW2 has continued all of the proper holiday celebrations from GW1 (in some shape or form). All of the ones with decorations and actual events and celebrations.
