Just wondering, any plans on implementing a race change feature? Personally im a little bit dissapointed on how bad end game items look on asuras, they are too small, even with funny movements useful racials, the armor/weapons on them looks pretty lame compared to other bigger races. And im too lazy to level the same class over again.

Highly unlikely they would confirm/deny, but I doubt they’d implement it.

Just look at how difficult it would be to implement story changes.

Im too lazy to run dungeons so they should make all dungeon tokens purchasable for gold. But im too lazy to get that so I think they should just give me them for free.

Sorry for the sarcasm but its really not hard to roll another character. Id hate a race change to be brought in as it would completely ruin immersion for me to just be able to change race at will.

Correct me if im wrong but, dont all races story’s eventually connect to one path, fighting dragons and slaying undead? Ive only ever been as far as lvl 65 in story but I cant recall ever doing any quests that were race specific past lvl 30 or so. If not then I imagen it would be fairly easy to implement a race change that you could only buy/use when youve completed your story past the point where you dont deal with race any more. Youd only have to manipulate code dealing with a players race instead of race and race specific story content.

The other problem lies in dealing with cultural armor and weapons, this one is tricky. What can you do other then delete it in the process or convert them with a system that searches through bank, inventory and hero tab to find cultural equipment. Perhaps have a window where you can place all cultural equipment in to convert it, but then what happens to the items you leave out, they would have to stop you from being able to equip it.

I`d also like race change.
I like the Charr animations, emotes etc, but Charr camera, handling is sodding awful & I don`t want to have to level, gear etc all over again.

Not very likely. It affects the Personal Story and Race Specific skills. There’s quite a bit that needs to be modified to make changing race possible. We can’t just reset the personal story (allows people to get certain rewards twice per character), and a lot of character progress data would need to be reset as well.

If you want to power level, I recommend joining WvW in a exp/karma train (a mob that takes camps and checkpoints, but ignores forts). It’s a very fast way to level that doesn’t involve a large gold investment.

You can spend gold to do a ton of crafting to level up a character. You would’ve spent the gold on gems anyway for the race change.

I have 3 level 80 characters and am now working on my fourth. With the new achievement features being implemented there will be more reason than ever to go back and do some things that you haven’t in a while… Including making a new char…

Just make one because if they didn’t implement race change with the makeover kits then it is highly unlikely they ever will.

I’m pretty sure they have said “no” on this at some point in an official capacity, the main reason being the personal storyline.
