The title says it all, just wondering if there are any plans to allow us to change race anytime soon. I don’t mind paying for it, just hoping or wondering if it is in the works or if there are even any plans for this feature? I know this is a long shot but it would be cool if something like that could be available on the Nov 15 patch? Funds are ready to go, just waiting for it:)

No news on it, and the community is probably split an even 50/50 on folks who want it/don’t care if it’s added and folks who don’t want it.

That said… while it would be an awesome cash shop option, I don’t see it happening. Ever. The main reason being that a race change would require an unbelievable amount of changes to take place. Your personal story, for one thing. What about all those choices you made during the story? That alone is enough to shoot the idea right out of the water.

The elite skills, armor, etc might be a little easier but the story? Yea, I can’t see them doing it for that reason alone.

I find that extremely unlikely, they haven’t even officially yet released the style changer they most certainly wouldn’t release a race changer any time soon – if at all. Since race affects so many aspects of this game such as personal story, cultural armors and skills I find it hard to believe they’d release that – and if they would, it wouldn’t be any time soon.

Think about how many problems this would cause to someone who’s doing a story quest, start off a story as a charr then sudenly change to asura, how would that go? Would you have to choose all your character’s story info again? How would it change? I find it hard to believe this would ever be available.

i’m pretty sure they said no to a race change because of personal story.

While i don’t like the idear about a race changer, i would really like a remodeler, to remodel my character as i have update my video card and don’t quite like how my character looks and don’t want to start all over again. So dose anyone know if they are going to bring out a remodeler or samething like it to the gem shop???

Personally I’m glad there’s no race changer, it’d be kind of chaotic.

Yes they will bring out a “remodeler”, in fact they already did – as a mistake. Somehow a “prototype” of a “remodeler” was made available for a short period of time but they took it away as they explained it was not finished. They do plan on releasing it soon as it seems.

So I would have to level the same profession over again to 80:(

Well you chose which race to start off as, you had an idea of what you were picking. Also if it bothers you so much that you’re willing to spend money on changing your race, playing another race to Lv80 shouldn’t be such a horrible thing.

It’d be fun, plus you’d get to experience all of the race’s own personal stories as well.

iirc, there were two different levels (based on rumors and other forum posts i saw): one that changes hair style/color for 200 gems and another one that’s a full remodel for 350 gems. so, a little less then 2g for hair color/style change and a little more then 3g for a full remodel, assuming those prices are actually accurate.

The funny thing is I actually took time creating and deleting characters a lot to get that perfect look. I chose a human because I thought they looked better than norns but when I got to 80 somehow my opinion changed when comparing the two in some of the nicer heavy armor. Norns just really stand out with heavy armor at max level, I guess because there bigger. Oh well though Ill live.

They may or may not put this in, but one thing I know for sure:

If you created your character again today just to pick a different race…it would be quicker to get from 1-80 then to wait for them to put a race changer in the game.

I would rather have a class changer. Warrior is just so dam stale and guaurdian fit asura so much better

Appearance change maybe but never a race change.

does it really matter if a person changes their race? If a person changes their race (and pays 25 dollars for the option which helps in future development) who are they really effecting outside of themselves?

what… it has no actual effect on your game play and helps support the developers! So why does it bother you so much that people want to change their race?
