I heard some rumors that there is a possibility of racial skills being removed (i didn’t see them in the new skills/trait systems images).

Could someone clarify if it’ll happen or not, please?

I doubt it as they are rarely taken as is unless your class lacks a decent elite or you back when the Norn transformations gave good mobility (they still might be useful but I honestly haven’t used them since they were changed).

I would be sad if they did but it wouldn’t really break the game for me.

Really I’m just giving this a bump because you have me curious now.

Asura’s racials can actually be taken seriously though.

30 sec CD retal + 3 stacks of AoE confusion → This is good enough for a weapon skill
3 sec daze on 45 sec CD → Still good enough for a utility skill (mes has 3sec stun signet)
AoE weakness + poison field that lasts 12 sec → Also good enough to qualify as a real skill.

If they are to be removed, it’s probably because of the asuras’

Well, there are several reasons why some people think they might be removed:

1) Engineers are getting a 5th toolbelt skill for their elite, which would mean they would also get new toolbelt skills for all racial elites which would have to be balanced and for which animations would have to be made.

2) It is unclear if and how racial skills would work with the Revenant.

3) It is unclear if and how racial skills would work with the new skills and trait unlock system.

I really would not have a problem if they did delete racial skills.

All Races should have that is different is:
-Armour Set Styles
-Weapon Set Styles
and NPC interactions

E.g. how npcs react to Sylvaris in Lions Arch.

So, my human necromancer will go down to having 0 useful elite skills? I hope not.

I hope they dont delete it.
Every Sylvari Elite skill has helped me in some specific boss during the queen’s gauntlet, i use Take Root as my main elit skill for my mesmer and i’m still curious about many other Racial skills (specially asura).
