Here’s my take on this based on my experience playing asura and charr characters. I noticed that while their racial skills are awesome, they are less practical to use when compared to their profession skills. For my charr character, my main concern is how huge their cooldowns are especially after expending the Charrzooka ammo and I won’t mind keeping the damage intact but rather just lessen the cooldown just a bit to say… 90 seconds or so?

For the Asura on the other hand, I got a real bone to pick with them because one thing I love about these guys is the golems they create especially their D-Series Golem. For a defensive golem, he’s really quite selfish when protecting himself. Plus, this is one such instance where I wish his summoning was permanent like a Necromancer minion. Simply put, I think Asura golems stand by you much like a Necro’s minion and have his racial skill hotkey be replaced with the golem’s skill so that you can feel like you are(to an extent) in control of your golem.

The problem behind making racial skills worth making a certain race/class combo with is that, people who don’t have that race/class combo are at a disadvantage if something became meta, in both pve and wvw. As it stands, a lot of the racial skills are mostly just a gimmick.

Still, it could add more spice to the how things work out. Metas do need to be dynamic to keep things interesting for better or worse. There will be balancing issues, sure but what’s one more gonna hurt? XD

I can understand say the Charrzooka being imbalanced but I really think the Asura’s Golem racials need more oomph to them in that they need to be utilized often. Think of the players who want to play golemancers, eh?

Then shouldent human hounds of baltazar, the charr warband support sylvan hound then norn need to have a pet added as elite that switch depending on what they took in personal story and all of em permanent aswell

When you put it like that, it’s almost as if they are just borrowing power from an external source rather that what is their own. Hmmm…. this may be tricky to pull off indeed thinking about it now. I still want my D-Series to have a hotkey that can trigger it’s barrier on my command though.

Now this is something I can agree with, even though I don’t have any asurans (But plan to eventually make some!)
If it’s an update or a feature that makes minions more controllable then I’m all for it. Because this game seriously lacks control over what your minions do unless you’re a ranger.
