Why can’t we use titles we gain in the story?

I still don’t understand why we don’t got titles for the steps we completed in the story. Like when you join any of the orders you are referred as something and you gain a title, but that title is not available to be used in the title window.

I’m a Charr, why can’t I be adressed as a Charr would?

This is something that have bothered me as well. I’m a certain race and races have certain titles they are given, either at birth or what type of citizen you are etc. If I’m a Charr which has a lot of reputation and a leader of a squad, then I would like to be able to use the title Legionnaire, for example.

This would improve on the role-playing and also make more sense when you play through the story, and also the race you’re playing.

Anyone agree on this?

Would love to be able to set the title for my Sylvari as Dreamer, or Sapling. I can imagine this to be a great deal for RP, even to I don’t RP (yet).

Sounds cool. Not sure how immersion breaking it would be to have a zerg of Charr Legionnaires running around, or human “Hand of the Queen”s, or Sylvari Dreamer/Warden etc.

ANET is probably okay with this considering we already have titles like “Hero of Lion’s Arch”, and therefore a zerg of such Heroes already exists :P

This is one of the reasons I’m playing my Warrior alot in PvP simply because ‘Champion Legionnaire’ is the closest thing to such a title in Charr standards. But yeah, as mentioned above, it was a real big troll on the game to be like “I shall give you the title, Champion of Orr” then never actually receive it. XD

Still, if they added something like Order missions or such to unlock such titles int he future, I wouldn’t mind.

I agree you’d think completion of your personal story would give you a title, considering up-to-date some people have put less time and effort into living world stories and got titles from those.

I like the idea. I imagine it would even help pull people towards playing the other races, as the majority are human. Mostly just the AP farmers… but still.

I too like this. Would give me another reason to place every race. They could even have class specific titles much like the Spvp class specific titles like: Champion Shadow, so on and so forth.

One of the high points of my playtime in the MMO I spent some real time in before this was obtaining class specific titles.

Edit: Side note, Since all personal stories no matter the race converge into the same stories once you get past the “Orders” bracket, I would put the cutoff somewhere in there. In the other game, their story went all the way to cap and was about the class entirely so unless the racial stories here get some lovin, it would pain me greatly having to do the after Orders stuff over and over again.

Done it a few times now already, didn’t like it then.
