It wasn’t covered in the stream as far as I’m aware, do we have any information on the status of racial skills in the new system?

please dont delete racial skills! Even if they are weak, they are fun. I like to summon my golems as an Asura. I like my Charr racials skills.

I love my racial sylvari skills. I hope I get to keep them.

Antitoxin heal skill also. No clue what’s gonna happen to that.

I really hope they don’t cut them. They aren’t very good, nor are they supposed to be, but they add flavor to the different races. And we need more stuff that does that if anything, not less.

you dont have to make them stronger or make engi F5 skill for them. Just leave empty F5 skill when equiping racial elite skill ok?

Playing Asura withhout golems or playing charr without all thess cool weapons are fun, dont take if from us please.

I doubt racial skills will get affected by the new system. They’ll probably be free on characters or worst/best case offered in a seperate baseline track which you get to chose if you want to spend points on or not.

My guess is they’ll be base available.

but Cyninja what will happen with engi? They making new skill slot for his elite skills. All his elites skill will get new “tool belt” (F1-F5) skill.
They would have to make 16 new skill just for Engi. Because there are 16 elite racial skills. Also lets not forget about Mistfire Wolf elite skill. So they have to make 17 new tool belt skills for engi!
Because of that even Wooden Potatoes think they will just delete racials. (and maybe they will even delete Mistfire Wolf skill that people paid to get…)

They also said they want to add all skils to some category. So now elementalist tornado elite will becaome a Cantrip. So traits can work on all skills. And again what with racials? They cant add them to category in traits.

Racial skills will be deleted

I too was wondering about the racial skills. I could see them splitting them into separate Racial skill reward tracks per character. They would all be set as untyped ‘skill’ as most of them are now so you don’t have to worry about traits.

No clue where Antitoxin would fit into that.
Or Mistfire Wolf. Now that’s an interesting case.

One of my WvW builds relies on a racial elite skill. I hope they remain.

Racial skills are some of my favorite skills to use.

My guardian only heals with prayer to dwayna while sending out her flaming hounds against her foes, my engineer loves to sprout seed turrets, my mesmer often has a pet worm(her one friend that isn’t imaginary), and my thief loves to jump in her armored battle suit when stealth is no longer an option.

I will literally cry if they delete racial skills #saveracialskills

Still no word from Anet about racial skills.

If they will delete them , they can as well delete all races other then humans, because all races will now feel the same.

Maybe racials will be unlocked by default?
Once the skill slots open up that is.

Show that you care about them!

Asura without golems is not an Asura.
Charr without warband and weapons is not a Charr.
Norn without transformations? Even norn NPC use it in fight.
Sylvari without fancy nature themed skills?
Humans without Hounds of Balthazar and other prayers? What will be left from all that God’s lore from GW1? Statues?

Maybe just delete all races then? If you delete racial skills all races will feel the same. B-O-R-I-N-G

5 revenants do not appear to be able to choose their utility skills. Their utility skills are determined by their legendary stance. The only thing they can use the arrows above their utility skills for is to rearrange the skills given by their stance. Edit: The same goes for the revenant’s healing and elite skills of course.

You are right. That also confirms that they will delete Mistfire Wolf skill, that people paid money to get. That was the only reason to go for deluxe version.

Engineer skills: They could easily have one racial F5 that covers all non-class elite utilities. That would mean 5 new skills, not 17. And they could easily just give everyone the skills for free, baseline. Most racial skills are hilariously bad and wouldn’t be vaguely powerful even with a direct boost from elite specializations. There are probably some examples counter to that, but those would easily be tweaked down if they were problematic. I still doubt they’d be more powerful than a real class elite in any case.

I am afraid you are right.. and I am sad..

Save racial skills! This would be a sad loss, and we’ve proven in the past that anet listens if something gets enough support.

I’ll support this. It’d be sad to lose racials.
