Radiant Backguard and impossible itens
I have to do fractals to get mastery points so that I don’t have to do fractals. I feel your pain.
I don’t do PvP, only PvE, and I would have to take long breaks from my preferred gameplay to get that new PvP backpack (and since I’m gawdawful at PvP then not only will it take a long time but be double plus ungood unfun).
I guess there’s things neither of us will get, unless we stop doing what we want and do what the game requires to get it.
ANet may give it to you.
Pvp backpack is 100 times easier to get than 40k+ achvments points….
I think this should be mentioned, haven’t double checked but counting together all achievements from gw2 wiki (historical included), gives you total of 37000 points so it isn’t even possible to get those backpieces yet, I could have calculated wrong though.
I don’t see it as impossible, one of my friends have little under 31k ap. It’s something for super achievement hunters.

It IS impossible at the moment. The current maximum is a bit lower than 33k.
I’m in kind of the opposite position.
I never play PvP because I don’t enjoy it, but I collect mini pets. Which means at some point I’m going to have to do a lot of PvP to get the mini llamas and the miniatures of the Mist Champions.
I don’t like it, but I understand that Anet can’t simply ensure all the items I want are obtained through things I like doing, and that it wouldn’t be fair to other people who like the same items but different gameplay if they did.

It dont matter to me if i have to stay months away from pvp to get that radiant backguard. I made a legendary out of pvp, so i could do it again easily. What you arent getting is that this achievment iten is not like the llamas or anything that you can farm in pvp. Not even close… The time needed to farm the radiant backguard is lol

Right now you simply cannot put the time in to get it, be it months or years. Unless they add new sources of AP, the max AP you can get if you do absolutely everything that gives you points no matter how difficult will still not be the amount needed for that backpiece.
The time needed isn’t lol, it’s infinite. That’s what maddoctor was trying to tell you.
I’d really like the Radiant Backpiece too, but honestly it’s not made for you and me. Like the Pinnacle Weapons, they’re for the top-of-the-top achievement hunters. Specifically the backpieces are for those people a couple years from now when that many APs are actually in the game.
