Radiant/Hellfire Chestpiece at 30k not 33k AP
I still think its kinda silly that they cant just go in the order: gauntlets → pauldrons → helmet → boots → legs → chest then repeat. by them time very many people would reach that many achievement points there will probably be another more prestigious armor skin.

The first people are already getting close…it’s not impossible, I used to bullseye womprats in my T-16 back home…they’re not much bigger than 2 meters.

That’s the point. Or would you rather they wait until people achieve all the things until they make more things to achieve?
According to my calculations 29665 is the current maximum possible achievement points, including 15k daily, Black lion collections and all WvW achievements.
So 30k+ will be possible when AddOn comes.

But how many points are wrapped up in those WvW Achievements that are still a few years from anyone completing them? I would guess probably 300 or so. Wonder how many achievement points the expansion will have available on release.

The point was that they would like 1 full set of the armor rather than working on both. I think they implemented this poorly. It’s gonna take most of us longer than 1 presidential term to unlock a set of armor for a game? No thanks.

Making them into full sets was probably an after thought and since at the time some players had already gotten enough achievement points to pass where they start getting the other set it would be a pain to redo the order. So they just made the chest and pants higher.
They will probably revamp it in the future to make a more linear progression, which will cause everyone to rage cus they got to 30k to get a chest, and then suddenly everyone under 20k has it.

Are we supposed to care if something is easy or hard for them to do? Because I don’t.
It’s a lazy and poor design decision and that’s what it actually is. Still to this day they could change it if they wanted to and it wouldn’t affect 99% of the people playing the game.

After around 3k hours in WvW I have 164 of 809 possible achievement points there. So the AP there are in fact quite unrealistic.

I’d rather they offered all 12 skins at each 3k, so if you don’t care for the helm of one, you’re not forced to get both helms until you reached 36k AP.
And I’d also prefer that you could get the Pinnacle skin the next 1k after getting the Zenith skin of the same weapon type – so if you want the Pinnacle Daggers, for example, you only need 2k AP not 40k-or-whatever-it-is.
There really isn’t much need for prestige in these weapon skins, IMO, especially given how few people actually use them – as I see it, they’re often use more as a free non-standard weapon skin charge rather than “hey, I’ve got prestige!”
In GW1, it was titles and miniatures and guild capes that spoke of prestige, not skins – with rare exceptions like Envoy weapons or the Bone Dragon Staff. Why can’t the same be for GW2? I know GW2 is more skin-focused but all the same I don’t see a point in prestige, let alone one that’s locked behind a ton of lesser prestige.
TBH, only prestige in skins I see worthwhile would be the PvP tournament Glorious Hero armor. That’s something I consider proper prestige. And the new legendaries coming out with HoT is a proper “lesser prestige” to me (“lesser” in that everyone can get it, but it still takes time and cannot be traded – shame the original legendaries weren’t like that).
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

The reason they didn’t do it that way is poor planning, IMO. When they first introduced the pieces, they only had shoulders, gloves, and helmets done. So they just did those 3, then repeated them a second time.
Later on it seems they decided to finish the sets, but by that point there were already people who had gotten most of the current rewards, so in order to be fair to those people who would have missed chances at other armor pieces, they had to tack the other parts onto the end of the achievement line instead of going in the logical order. Otherwise, people who had, say, 15,000 AP at the point when they got around to adding the boots / chest / leggings would have missed out on a chance for boots and a chestpiece (or leggings) and instead doubled up on shoulders and gloves.
No, they planned on doing full sets from the start. They chose this order because now, you need a hell of AP for a full set (but the second set is nearly finished, too) so those bring a ton of prestige. The other possibility (one set first, second one after that) would be much easier to aquire plus nobody can see if it’s your first or second set, so the second unlocked set wouldn’t be more prestigeous than the first one, though the needed amount of AP would be very different.
