I’ve been doing the world boss train and I’m thinking how they could be raids instead. As it stands now, you just follow the huge zerg train and press 1 (which is an auto so you can press 1 and go afk for the most part). The game already has world map instancing with the story, most notably the personal story.

So why not design the world bosses to be instanced raids? Take Claw of Jormag for example. You have three attack points. Left leg, right leg, and head. You could have a raid group comprised of three parties of 5 where each party has to focus on each of the body parts. While they share the same health pool, they are seen as separate entities thus each party can have a conditioner where each part can have it’s own set of conditions.

It can then be designed for the party requiring specific builds. For example each 5 man party fighting Jormag could require the following;

One tank build using traits that can survive big hits, spec’ed to res fallen allies and/or supports/buff allies.

One condition build since each part can have it’s own set of conditions put upon it. All damage conditions drain hp from the same pool.

Three dps builds.

Each part has an attack that will down all but the tank build.

This forces each party to maintain distance. The heavy attack can hit up to 15 players and the tank build can only survive one attack, so if two parties get too close together, they’ll all get wiped.

Another benefit to this is that it can be made available once a day for each player allowing players to do them at their convenience in any order they wish. The instance point becomes active for everyone at reset. However, it works like the personal story instances so even if you did it already, if you are in a group with someone who hasn’t, you can enter again. You just don’t get extra rewards.
