Raids are supposedly coming to GW2, so will support (read: healing) become more of a factor or will raids be pretty much like dungeons where mobs just run around and people dodge desperately waiting for their personal heal to come off CD?

Probably the same old zerker content dodge or die, if anet makes raid need coordinated healing then people will cry saying a support healer is required and WoW2.0 etc. I can see it now.

Coordination 2 confusing for NPE

Particle effect slider would be ‘too confusing’

Never !

So much work for Devs. They need 2 years to add 2 new colors for Tag.

You can see this year, they have worked nothing: Birthday GW2, Year of Dragon, Halloween and Christmas.

The priority of Arena is Gems and the HL.

Please refer to the last big thread on this,
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Raids-are-coming-to-GW2
It was discussed pretty far in depth about the pros/cons, what they should/should not do, etc.
I still see very little difference between what comprises a “raid” versus what comprises the current dungeons in place now.
What I’d prefer to see is a large group (10-15 man?) instance of Fissure or Underworld from GW1, with multiple areas to clear so a group can choose to just do one area if they are short on time or run the full gamut in an entire evening (like the old times!) Instead of quests, I can see dynamic events being in each area so you have to complete them to advance events in a sequence to “complete” an area, ideally culminating in a large boss-type event.
With the randomized loot system of GW, to entice players to do this content, you’d have to offer exclusive skins (storm bow anyone?), obby shards, ectos, etc. Anyone who has played GW1 would be expecting this and it would make sense in terms of adding something to the game world. If they do make raid content, FoW/UW are an excellent place to start.

Live, learn, level up.

Ultimately, it’ll be awesome to see if this really happens… At this point I don’t even care if they include healing or not, but we’ll be lucky to see if they actually have or can get ahold of the funding for this kind of project. Given what’s going on in the behemoth forum sounds like finances might be tight for a while.

There was a CDI, so there won’t be raids. CDI on a subject = subject never develloped.

the way things are going right now, if it gets to confuse for “new” players we may get “rewards”(aKa greens and blues, because you know more than 2 colors may confuse new players) before we kill the bosses.

It seems even the so-called soft trinity has been neglected. Most, not all, but most as in the vast majority of content seems to be “go full out DPS.” Why cant I spec into a more support build, get some cleric’s gear and be viable? I hope raids brings this to the table. DPS, DPS, and more DPS – it stops this game from achieving greatness imho.
