Hi first time poster.

This may have been asked/addressed, however I wish to point out the info on pet locations on the wiki is highly out of date. ( IE: The forest spider in queens forest is located by the champion spider queen. ) as well as the spider mentioned is non existent. No more juvenile spiders are there. No juvenile river drake underwater by the west queens dale dam. The juvenile bear is no longer at the bear shrine. Any idea where those juvenile critters scurried off to? I have not confirmed other locations but these.

Also the bunny shrine in wayfarer foothills is moved, I assume because the bunnies used a push back effect that may have pushed players off the cliff. The respite vender is sill up the hill where it used to be.

Those might have all been changed by the patch yesterday. If you see where they went, just edit the wiki with the new location. Otherwise, just keep looking.

Perhaps the ranger pets were considered “too complex” and moved out of low level areas, who knows.

Considering new Rangers don’t even have their pet UI when they start, I assume Anet felt it was too complicated to learn how to walk up to a small friendly creature and press F.

Juvenile raven and polar bear have remained unchanged. I have only explored said changes so far. As to the UI, it unlocks at level 5, but I have only obtained 3 pets so far. Still hunting. At level 14 now.

Rangers can’t switch pets anymore at low levels. They can’t command them or name them. I guess ANet felt there was no reason to give them new pets that they can’t access them in any manner.

And who in the world thought taking away pet commands was a good idea? You can’t tell it to attack something and you can’t tell it to stop attacking something. Have fun in game now being slowed and abandoned by your pet as it constantly runs off to fight things that hit you once while you are passing through an area.

Not only that, but the unique F2 ability has been locked for a higher level. So even at level 5 when the UI unlocks, it remains locked.
