Re-adjusting Karma
Clovers are not needed for ascended weapons.
They did go a bit too far. At the very least they need to adjust the prices of most karma items, i.e all pre-80 ones.
the hunt for obsidian shards is now way to long. I wont say its too hard its just a matter of time and queue length to WvW.
The amount of karma that we previously got was too much, but this amount is way to little.
They should introduce a new way of rewarding karma vials.
Maybe one daily segment = 1 karma vial?
Or add them to JPs.
Plus, enable the karma booster to influence the consumables again…
Say what? ANet miscalculated the amount of karma people could get and then miscalculated again on the nerf? What about all that careful balancing they do that makes them so slow to implement any changes?

This has been discussed before, but I agree that karma was nerfed too much. I have over 5 million Karma… please add more karma sinks instead of having new players struggle to earn any karma at all. It was too easy to get gobs of karma before, but it should of been halved not practically zeroed out.
Did you forget the time before haloween 2012?
There should be no flat buffs or nerfs to karma rewards. Rather their should be a graduated karma tax where in you earn less karma as your karma pool increases.
Gee… what if they’re planning to have the second means of obtaining Ascended armor (other than crafting) be karma? The karma nerf would be seen in a different light at that point.

By whom? The people who already have all the Karma they need or the people who would have to earn Karma under the new severely reduced rate?

Yep, I meant legendary. Sorry about that.
“We” (general we here) told them that karma was worthless, so they ’Smiter’s Boon’ed it on us. I don’t think they are going to undo that honestly, but we can try I guess. Sort of feels super pointless though.
I Personally think that this update was COMPLETELY unnecessary, i’m working towards my legendary and i have 40k karma. in 3 days of casual play i managed to getoonly 3k karma. In need over 1 MILLION, so at this rate its going to take almost a year. I think the jugs of karma should have stayed in the dailies ad monthlies because even with those it took almsot 2 months for most people to get legendaries. to top it off they nerf dungeon rewards too, well this makes it even more frustrating and difficult. CMON A NET what are you playing at, im starting to find the end game of this game incredibly grind driven and not at all enjoyable. Why not simply add back the old karma system and keep the champion rewards and make the events rewards MORE rewarding. Does that not make everyone’s lives easier? I mean gold itself is already difficult enough to get and well, i need 800 for that to get a precurser, even if i was doing the mystic forge i would need like 400 gold, so A NET i ask you this, Is it really worth it, making people so annoyed?
I agree, karma was nerfed to a point where it would be a waste to spend them on ascended if you are working toward a legendary.
And if you’re not going for a legendary, then it would be a waste of karma to spend them on exotic temple gear if you’re going for ascended gear.
You would be setting yourself back a great deal.

Well I’m happy I grabbed (and kept) a karma infusion before the karma patch hit. I think since the karma nerf I’ve been able to get 200-300k karma, mostly from just playing a couple of hours a night (mostly world bosses/random PvE events). Though I was happy to learn that playing a lower level fractal gives out a decent karma bonus now (don’t remember how much though).
I do think things were nerfed a bit too far, especially for new players who don’t have a stockpile like most of us. Even more so now that they added decent karma dump for ascended crafting/weapons. I just find it funny how the daily activity can give just as much, if not more karma, as the daily itself (though to be fair a daily can take as little as 20 min).
While I still personally have over 2 million karma, I think Anet has gone too far in limiting karma. People who can’t play as often but do want an ascended weapon are struggling to get enough karma just to get obsidian shards to put in the mystic forge for clovers.
Those who got that done fast have a huge advantage.
I’m not saying karma wasn’t given too freely before. It probably needed a nerf….just not the degree of nerf it was given.
Honestly the first post I’ve ever agreed with you wholeheartedly on! Seriously the 600 per daily is bad, they need a daily per character not per account especially if they want people to be able to gain items for ascended for multiple characters. It’s fine that they limited the karma boosters to not work with these jugs but to reduce the size of these jugs to almost nothing daily is too far.
I personally have a stack of the old ones I’m about to use for my third toon, but there are people who bought 8 character slots that are hurting that came into the game late that shouldn’t suffer for this change. This game is getting less and less alt friendly everyday.

That would depend (if it were implemented at all) on how much karma per piece. I’m guessing if they go this route, no one will have all the karma they need for one character.
