Since the recent fix that Anet made to address the map complete issues something else has come with it, something good. If you have any of those maps that used to be at 100% but are now 98 or 99% due to extra Poi’s etc added since game release it is well worth going back and getting that extra Poi or whatever. As doing so will reward you the map complete chest again. That’s freebies and a chance at a BLTC key.

I just did this on my 1st alt, on whom I got world complete 3 years ago. So I am about 99.9% sure he has had all of his map rewards before. Yet he is now getting them a bonus time due to this recent fix.

I do not think this is a bug or an exploit. If anything probably something that Anet just had to do to make sure they covered everyone getting their rewards. Pretty similar to what happened that first birthday when some of us got bonus Queen Jenna minis and boosters. At the time I only had 9 chars yet I got double that amount of minis/boosters etc because of the fix they had to do to fix a glitch.

So I am pretty sure this is correct that you will get the map reward again if you go back and complete those little things. Good luck getting BLTC keys! (my alt got 1 so far).

Ps, if you can confirm you ARE getting the reward for a second time please post here just to confirm this post thanks.

PPS, if this has been posted already, then please ignore. Also if we could get some kind of a conformation on this from a Dev that would also be great!.

Just got my second key, wow there are a lot more maps I have to redo, far more than I thought. This is DEF worth looking into guys. Also if you have not done Southsun before it is well worth it as there are only 6 Waypoints and 6 Poi’s. That’s a very quick map complete for some free exotics and a BLTC chance.

I am up to my 4th key now on my 1st alt, and I have 8 more alts to check……
The exp I am getting is also very welcome towards my masteries. A lot of easy boosts to that as you get the map complete 8k or whatever exp it is.

Like you I did all the new things long ago on my main because just not seeing that 100% world complete messed with my OCD. Yet I did not bother for my alts until now as I thought I may as well clear them up before I head into HOT with them. And wow, just wow this is too awesome to be true….

Phew I was starting to worry there that I would get the world complete reward again upon 100% world. Thankfully I did not. What a relief that is, otherwise if I did get that again then I would have thought – def a bug, this needs to be fixed right away and this halted for the rest of my alts.

This. The more times your account “uses” an exploit, the less likely they are to be lenient should you cross the line of where they ban vs not ban.

Just because you didn’t get the 100% world completion rewards again, doesn’t mean the map completion rewards you got for doing some hearts and POI’s are not a bug.

If you want to be sure, don’t do anything with any rewards you’ve gotten. Leave them in your inventory and contact support. Tell them you got these items and ask them what to do. If it turns out it’s a bug they can remove the items from your inventory (and if they consider it an exploit it looks a lot better if the person didn’t profit by it).

I think this was asked about long time ago, when those first extra wp’s appeared, if you got any reward for re-completing those map, and a red flag said no.
It is a while ago though, so I possibly remember wrong.

Too late for that, already used the keys etc. I am one of those people that just has to empty my bags if I am in a town or near my bank. Another aspect to my OCD I guess lol. Just posted in the bugs forum so hopefully Anet will catch wind of this soon enough.

I recommend to others to hold off on going for this for now until we hear something. I also did think about removing this post but I see no point at this point. So many people have already seen this thread. Also it’s not hard for someone else to see this if they go back to clear their map up like I did. One of the main reasons I did was like I said earlier to prepare my 1st alt for hot as well as to take advantage of the new rewards for Dry Top, Silverwastes and Southsun being that they did not give rewards before this update.

Yah. I can see that about the rewards. Good stuff doesn’t sit long in my inventory. Sold, salvaged, used, whatever. It’s gone in a couple of minutes.

You’ve posted it as a bug and stopped. That’s about all you can do at this point. This thread will be good for others to read though so is best it stays up.

getting rewards a SECOND time for 1 poi or heart or wp is highly likely a bug and considered an exploit by doing it repeatedly. please edit your post and stop encouraging people to exploit this. use your mind please.

Definitely a bug. After coming back to the game for HoT and completing the story I only just started looking back to regular Tyria for missed things. I’m pretty anal about my maps being complete. I had a POI in one map and 3 hearts between two other maps. So I did them and got the rewards. Now I say it was definitely a bug because I got a Caledon Forest AND a Southsun Cove reward for the heart in Caledon Forest. If they consider it abuse they can take their crappy rewards back. The only good things I got were two ticket scraps anyway….YAY!! :P Either way, I wasn’t sure it was a bug until Caledon Forest, but this was also the last one I did. They’ve allowed stranger things than this to happen in the past, so I really didn’t think much of it until Caledon Forest. I think champ trains were the ultimate exploit and they allowed that to go on for months. Key farming too..another prime exploit they allowed to go an for a very long time. If they ban me for 2 scraps, 2 boosters (Not even good ones), a tome, and some other unremarkable thing, I guess that just saves me from spending more money in the gem store. :P
