I own the human light T3 for very long and paid some real money to buy some gems and get this T3 “newskin”.
Arenanet has decided that this skin shouldn’t have been available for gems and will be modified.
I don’t want another bad looking armor instead of this one nor gems ,i want my real money back.
So what will happen?Arenanet took my real money and keeps it while i am not interested in anything else in the game . This sounds really irrespectfull.
What next, they’ll sell legendaries skins for gems ,people will pay some real money to get it and 2 days later, they’ll say:“Ok,we made a mistake,we change these legendary skins into skins you won’t like but we don’t care, you’ve already paid for it and we keep the money.”?!

Sorry … i didn’t agree with what ANet did realeasing reworked cultural armor. However how can you complain about new armor you have not even seen yet? Maybe it will be even more awesome!

Just pointing out: technically you bought gems, not a skin. Your intention when buying those gems was to spend them on a skin, but from a legal standpoint your transaction was buying 800 gems with $10 —not buying a skin with $10.

Sorry for your loss. ArenaNet has said they will refund anyone who doesn’t want to keep the reskinned light armor.

This game is not about out-DPSing you. It’s about out-flashing you.

They know they messed up, admitted it and now they are going by the decision that will be less harmful. I can respect that, despite my opinion on the subject.

They prefer to give a refund for the few people that bought the skin during the two or three hours that it was available than to screw up the many more that bought the regular skin for two times the price that they put on the gem store. It is a pretty logical decision.

And since we have gem to gold conversion, it is reasonable to assume that many people used RWM to buy the regular skins, too.

Let’s all face the facts here. Everyone complaining about their real money knows FOR A FACT that they are going to spend those 800 gems on something else eventually. All this complaining is just for the sake of complaining.

Winged armor seems the most likely alternative if they want to go with an armor set that is as close to T3 human as possible. Atleast for female characters.

They do refund gem purchases as long as the gems have not yet been used and were purchased using a refundable source. In this special case, since it’s their error, they should refund your gems and then allow you to refund the gems.

I’m not sure how they’re going to handle people that transmuted over transmutations, considering a splitter isn’t going to fix it. They’re going to have to offer not only a refund, but also a free armor set, credit or do a rollback by hand, which will cost them a lot of support hours.

Their best bet is to create a new custom (not a reskin) T3 look alike, or one that is considered more awesome, to avoid the problem.

Anet has never said the refund would be in gems, they said it would be through contacting their customer service. There’s obviously a lot of complicated issues players are going to have going into processing their refund beyond the 800 gems, and so far Anet has shown that they are listening, it’s not out of the question that they’ll refund the $$ to gems, recover destroyed armor/xmutes, etc. The only complication I could see coming up is for getting a credit refund is if you used a gift card or redemption code to get your gems.

I wish everyone luck. Have patience. Voice your issue so that it’s heard, but have patience.

ozmaniandevil,

The light armors skins they released to be purchased with gems up to now didn’t fit my taste so i am very pessimistic. Now i have to wait i don’t how much time without knowing if i’ll like it or not. This is some kind of psychological torture.

Finnway,

As i wrote,i bought gems to buy the skin,i didn’t write that i bought the skin with real money. But i only bought these gems to get this skin.Without this skin,i wouldn’t have paid real money.
About their refund, they think about giving the gems back but i don’t care about those gems,i want my money.

I really hope that i will like the new skin (the chance is very low), i also hope that they will give me my money back and not a useless virtual one.Very useless now since i’ll probably never again buy anything in the gem store seeing how it is ruled.
