Broken Mesmer is broken
undyable town clothes tonics with time limits.

Not broken at all Shan – more fixed than broken.

The problem is Critical damage DID NOT scale and some were OP in that. The ‘Zerker’ meta was not supposed to be so OP that you only play that. Other builds are now viable and some more so than ‘Zerker’.

I also noticed that they seemed to fix the condition damage problem in PvE. That means conditions on you in PvE will be the same.

I’m not even sure where to begin on this there is a lot I do not like about this “new system” with the patch.

1: trait respects:
Rangers were already troublesome to play and were often the target for being kicked from groups for just being rangers because people want thief, or Warrior instead on dungeon runs, because Rangers are not seen as the best DPS (despite that before this patch, if you built your ranger right they were a handy long to close range DPS with the added bonus of a pet to send in and Rez allies if needed) Now with this new patch, our Condition damage now means Jack-doodles everything is now shoved on to precision and critical, Our damage rate is now dropped by three quarters or more I went from doing 10k with my long bow on maw to just a mere 200! My main is a lvl 80 ranger and she’s gone from being a handy ranger to a glorified pet owner with a fancy stick that shoots something that dose.. less then a lvl 1 with a normal practice stick with no stats! and yes I have respected my new Traits and they SUCK spiky sour gone off rotten apples! I agree the system did need improvement, but THIS system is NOT improvement is copying and maybe even WORSE then the likes of SWTOR or WOW, and they have some really dumbed down lame systems :/ it works for those games but NOT for guild wars! this game was a breath of fresh air, now I feel like I’ve walked into a broom cupboard and inhaled everyone’s cigarette smoke with 50 people crammed in smoking like chimney pots and me being an asthmatic!

2: money/the Economy
in game money: it was already very hard to gain money in this game, I’m lvl 80 and up until last night had only managed to gain 8 gold since I started playing in November 2013!!!! I’m now down to 1 gold just respecting with equipment!!!!! and what do I get off bosses and events? maybe 1 or 2 silver, with WPs costing 3+ silver and loot that gets me OH a few copper! even the dungeons have been scaled down to rubbish. >:( it was already hard enough before! but now its imposable. Balancing out the economy my bottom! its now so unbalanced its broken!

3: World bosses.
Now their used to be trains that would travel the world, do pre events and hit bosses hard and fast to get our achievements, we could say when how and where to hit a boss and you’d have 4 or 5 trains running to do it. Now pre-events mean nothing, you can’t predict WHEN a boss will show up, the every hours, every 15 mins past the hour, every 30mins past the hour and 15mins to the hour and some once very 24 hours!!!
what were arena net thinking with this one? sorry but if someone happens to be at work or at school or collage or uni at the time some of these bosses spawn that’s it?! no achievement for them?!? sorry but that is out right disgusting!
The whole thing has broken a number of bosses, made a few make no sense, timers set up for predicting them are now so far out of date their useless, Oh and Behe is VERY badly broken in queensdale. the whole thing is just rubbish, the only way I can see to fix this is put if back to its original system!

4: WP costs:
now this is sort of part of 2, but the way point costs have gotten OTT, with events and/or bosses only giving you a few silver, and WPs costing anywhere between a few copper (for lower lvls only) to 4 or 5 silver with a few coppers thrown in, this is getting ridicules and expensive.

5: Boss culling
Queensdale champ train is a good example here, in that champ train, you would go Boar, Troll, Oak, Spider (some would do bandit) then back to Boar or wasp when she deems to show up. Now spider is no longer a champ, she’s an elite! she’s just one of many but she’s a quick easy example to go check out. The World boss dragon Shatterer is another, This guy was once a struggle to take down with 2 trains of 20 people, now a train of 10 people can kill him as if he were boar from queensdale. did he get dumbed down from World boss to a mere champ?

6: Boss chests in dungeons:
Boss chests in dungeons are now limited to once a day, Why was this even necessary? There are so many world bosses already limited to once a day as it was, but now there is NO reason to even bother with a Dungeon run! for rangers it was already troublesome to get a match and with some players even charging you gold to join (those players can get stuffed in my books because that’s LFG system abuse!) but now there is no real insensitive to even bother with the Dungeons at all because there is now nothing worth dungeon delving for!

there really is so much about this patch I hate and I really don’t have all day to sit typing it all up it really is stupid!

not sure what he was talking about- but in my case my Mesmer is broken.

It has nothing to do with zerker- it has to do with the changed trait lines that makes the build I had and enjoyed impossible to make now

I have 2 Mesmers- they were different builds- one is a condi, I haven’t had the heart to check her out yet

The new GM traits are mostly worthless. The exceptions would be the fire ele blinds, the engineer mines, and the guardian health….

everything else looks like junk.

90% of the runes are still junk, yesterday they were worth a fortune, as everyone, was expecting awesome upgrades, and today they’re for less than a silver, because no one in their right mind would use most of them.

At least let us flush them down the mystic toilet in hopes of rerolling something useful.

there are maybe 5 sigils worth using…. I’m willing to bet 90% of players will use Fire and 7%crit …the other 10% won’t be able to afford ’em.

we need hotkey emotes if we are expected to play with people who no speaky english

The only way to play the engineer is to exploit it.
Playing the engineer “as intended” is simply not viable.

My only complaints at this point are thus:

3:1 (stone:charge) conversion, but I sort of understand why. Don’t like it, but I understand.

“Boss chests in dungeons are now limited to once a day.” Sadness. I don’t really feel this was necessary, considering how much else is limited to ‘once per day.’

I think it was way out of control as the ‘champ trains’ were too numerous and interfered with regular players trying to do quests and the like. I think it is about time. The Champ Train people did this to themselves – no one else did – another farming nerf. It was an flaw in the game and players exploited it, they could ban you but they aren’t, they just closed the loopholes.

REASONS YOU DON’T LIKE THE NEW PATCH

Hello guys…. this is a topic about what you didn’t like with the patch and proposed solutions. Just post your top 2 issues and a fix for it. Then we’l have many pages of feedback to the devs! Remember to avoid personal insults try your best to be construvtive. IL go ahead and post mine:

1. FEROCITY
With the new patch my thief is rendered useless. He is a D/D direct damage stealth thief. you know the kind: 3000 attack, 16 k hp and 120% critdmg (prepatch) now i am brought down to 228 % ferocity which is with old critical damage 78 % critdmg that effectively means 42 % less damage. This is alright in PvE but it renders WvW roaming direct damage builds useless.

solution:
There is one simply solution. add a 35 % critdamage buff in WvWvW.

FORCING PVE DOWN PVP’ERS THROATS
I really desire the new traits for my warrior alt and ele alt. i knew i didnt want to go around in pve and grab it so i went to the vendor to buy it. And there i saw it it required freaking 20 skillpoints… Therefore i have to go to PvE anyhow…

Solution:
Just simply remove skill point requirement and increase the gold cost slightly.

You can get skill pts in pvp now. And crit changes made it so full zerker builds wont dominate pve/ bits of wvw

The megaserver can work, but there is no way an algorithm can match us up better than having the actual choice ourselves.

But isn’t the point that new maps are created when previous maps are ‘full’? So therefore you couldn’t join via your suggested method anyway? Whereas the algorithm (when working correctly) would dynamically manage who should be where so always ensuring space on the map you want?

I guess population would flow all the time so it wouldn’t be forever until you could join, but I would rather an automated process that places people into the most suitable maps, then sitting there spamming a dropdown box until someone (who doesnt really care what map they are on) left the map I wanted to get into.

They haven’t dropped this new system on us and walked away, I’m sure the algorithm will be improved.

Well – mostly, as pretty much always with such things, I’m pretty neutral about the patch. Most of the things I currently “dislike” actually come down to “it’s different” – and I can live with that until I play a bit more and get used to the changes.

But.

One change I definitely do feel is definitely a change for the worse, is the way that traits have been shuffled up into the higher levels. In all honesty I simply don’t see the need for it, or the logic behind it. No problems for my various level 80s – but my poor old level 27 ele, who was finally beginning to stack a respectable amount of survivability after levels of being a rather squishy glass cannon, is suddenly not only right back where she started, but will take another 15 levels to even regain what she’s lost. Yes, I can gear a bit to allow for that, but only at the cost of other things. Intended or not, it’s penalising levelling, pure and simple. Probably no great shakes for people who are happy to rush a character up to 80 as fast as they can, by any route they can – but I like to take my time, and savour the journey, and it looks like it’s now going to be that little bit harder, less comfortable, and rather less enjoyable. Not, I’m sure, what the dev’s had in mind.

We have champ trains in dungeons? That’s a new one to me.

Colin has said that the champ training was an acceptable form of play in their game. I can see making it not as lucrative (reducing the gold from bags again) or making them not as fast or effective (changes to FG train).

But to remove the end chest from dungeons for all except one run when you don’t exactly get oodles of goodies from the dungeon to begin with? (Not talking speed runs here, just normal playing through which has a lot more kills). That wasn’t really needed. As it is you only get the gold bonus once per day.

This is akin to them limiting the FoW or UW chest to once per day in GW1. Completely unnecessary. All it will do it further kill the replay-ability / desirability of this content.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

glitched display of stats:
most of my characters get shown as having 1000 power, yet that’s less than what they gain from armour and rune sets. They do decent damage, however it looks as if rune, armour and sometimes weapon sets stats do not get displayed
Missing dailies:
dailies when they got merged, got squashed down. Less to choose from
Implementing boss timers, but not the megaserver at the same time:
Maw in Underworld failed, not because we ran out of time, but because the timer ended on a different server
Glitched bosses:
shadow of behemoth for example is unkillable because the portals spawn as friendly
the new UI:
Eeeeh. Eeeew!
trait changes:
leveling new alts is going to be a pain, so I won’t bother anymore.

There’s things that I like in the update, but for now all of the glitches are ruining it for me. The waypoint prices got increased, but I can’t make money, because by the time I log in there’s no more dungeons being run, so I can only do world bosses, but they’re really glitchy at the moment! Maybe I’ll wait a few weeks until everything hopefully gets fixed.

Dungeon path limiting. That’s so awful! Well I suppose no running anything besides Arah now. Because what’s the point of doing anything than the most profitable one? Before you could have done 3 runs of CoF or two runs of AC to get the same amount of money and waste the same amount of time. Now? Nope, one path of Arah. That makes me want to quit to be honest. I enjoyed doing dungeons. Oh well. Wildstar here I come! (And World of Warcraft instead of Guild Wars 2 for now)

I approve of the crit nerf, it was needed, but imo condition dmg should have also been brought down accordingly… as is, condition dmg is more effective then power/crit dmg and i feat that will bring the June-December horrible condition meta that made me stop playing this game for over 3 months…
well see how the spvp meta evolves but I’m sure that conditions will have to be addressed in some way (dmg/duration) in a near future

I just cant understand all this . . . Yes I am happy with my lvl 80 character traits . My MAIN problem is i worked my kitten off to get my low lvl character to lvl 35 and after this trait reset thingy going on , I get 1 point to spend on my traits @ lvl 35 when I HAD 10 , 10 , 2 for my traits .
Thats not right in ANY sense . . .
to go from having 3 traits to 1 trait at lvl 35 REALLY SUX kitten !!!
To me this means that Any New players have to get to such a high of a lvl just to get any traits . . . . well I will stop there and not say more cause I just want to Cuss . . .
To me this is just WRONG !!! To have the add and subtract on the trait lines is good . To be able to reset your traits at any time without any cost is good . To Loose all the Traits you had . . . this is not good , this will cost you a lot of new players that started just before the new April patch. AND possibly a lot of older players will not make new characters ever . For Every 10 points in a trait line you had you should get 1 point in the new setup at the minimum . To loose so many traits for low lvl characters will cause a lot of new players to leave . I do not see myself ever playing any new builds ever . . . Period . I do not see my self ever spending any more money on this game if this is the way it will stay . . . Period . I Do Not See myself doing anything more with this game cause of the pore execution of the new trait setup .

Except for the wardrobe I believe I hate most of the other changes.

1. The last 5 maps I went to people were speaking french freely in chat, am I being sent to the same maps as them from bogus Megaserver algorithms or the non english stopped caring since there are no more server distinction? What the heck where you thinking anet, this is just HORRIBLE.

Also the Megaserver affected areas seem to be way more than what was mentioned in patch note, I thought this was supposed to be a test phase but it feels like a fullblown epidemic, I can’t find people to do things with at the mercy of this stupid megaserver system, and I was a happy guildless person before, this change made everything so much harder it’s not even funny.

2. Farm nerfs, hypocritical much Anet? All your new LS events consist of grinding something or other, so that’s not wrong but players grind gold that may or may not affect gem sale is? Moderation not elimination, this game started out as ‘players can play the game and do and get what they want’, now instead of that we are being corralled to boorish TP flipping or buy gems, next thing in your list do I have to buy gems to pay to enter dungeons too?

I cba to mention the others as they are just lame and don’t affect me as much as these, worst patch ever.

edit – forgot to mention that due to the megaserver, more WP become contested, when you arrive to the map itself it might not be but our only choices as players are now only the ones that can’t be contested at all…gods the more I find out the more I hate this patch

You shouldn’t have lost your entire monthly unless you didn’t do the 2/2 in the first half of the month. What happened is that they released monthly with 2/2 and then after April 15th rolled it’s X/4 where whatever you did prior to April 15th carried over. If you did, provide a screenshot and make a support ticket of your monthly being 0/4 and having a monthly category filled.

Most of this new update has ruin the game. This update is a major step backward if they thought this would bring more players back to the game. It’s going to drive more people to leave the game. They ruin the Traits system which makes it now more harder for lower levels. Now you have to rebuy alot of armors to get the looks unlocked which to me is pointless they should have given everyone all the basic looks in the game already. Town clothes are gone which I enjoyed. And so many other things I mean they really messed up on this whole update. But do they care nope they only saw this update as a way to force you to give them more money in terms of armor and changing outfits.

I didn’t feel like they ruined the trait system at all. The new traits and some of the skill/mechanic changes (aside from ranger’s pet) is not really as good as I was hoping they’d be, so the content is still just about as flat as prior to the feature patch. That’s really what I think any of the complaining boils down to: it’s not new. It’s just stuff they’re releasing to polish content they already have while not releasing anything new. A polished coin is still a coin and only has the value of one coin, it’s not two coins.

A majority of the new talents are USELESS. I mean they simply have no enjoyable factor to them and have a very generic feel.

The dungeon changes made me question Anet’s sanity. Why would you implement a change that would have the effect of less people doing your pve content?

The ferocity change it what it is. It won’t create build diversity , it will simple cause players to take longer to kill mobs in pve – nothing more.

Overall this patch once again pushed the game in a direction I am no longer interested in following.

I honestly gave Anet the benefit of the doubt with this – Heck , I even bought some gems (something I said i wouldn’t do again until after patch day) prior to the patch.

I regret doing such.

It feels like we have less then what we had at release.

What I find interesting is all the people defending the game still and saying this was nothing more then a patch to set the foundation for future patches.

Funny thing about that above statement, what exactly was the first 1.5yrs then? Every single patch we keep hearing the same thing, this was for the foundation and wait to see what we have in store for you guys soon.

I’m an altaholic and the new trait system makes me mad. My warrior is 32, the 25% movement speed boost was great, now lost that and all the added stats I had from power tree and pretty much am slow until I get the next 5 traits, which is like 46? That’s complete garbage.

Reasons you don't like the new patch.

In my timezone, Teq spawns at 12.30 pm, 6 pm, and 4 am. I’ve done Teq daily for months, but with only these spawntimes I won’t be able to do him at all. I’m doubtful that Guild Tequatl will solve the issue.

Get better gear? If you honestly need traits that much to perform well at level 32 with a warrior, you’re being frugal with your money anyway. I think the new trait system is fun and immerses a player with the environment to unlock stuff. I wish one thing they’d do too though is add more elite skills that were obtained similarly to the new grandmaster traits. Similar to how elite skill hunting went down in GW1.
