Recording bots and using it as proof for ban?

Q:

I didn’t know where I should put this topic, so I chose the general forum.

I am asking if this is an option, what are your thoughts on it, or if not, should this be possible/viable?

I saw some rather easely recognised bots, but except of reportingthem I couldn’t do anything, so I was wondering whether me capturing a recording of gameplay woth them botting should be enough to get the banned.

I know that not erveryone can or is willing to do such thing, but I am, and probablysome other people, so at least it could be something.

You don’t know whether or not the bots you’ve reported were banned or not. Bot bannings in games often happen in waves; if they ban the moment they’re detected, the bot-makers can use that information in future to try and avoid detection longer. So you might not see immediate action even if a GM reviews your report immediately.

Which brings me to my next point: every report of botting is reviewed for indicators of automated play. We don’t get to know all those indicators, because again, botters can use that information. A video is unlikely to give them any more information than they can already get from internal data.

I am destruction itself. I also bake cookies.

I know HotW bots I’ve reported over 2 months ago are still doing the same thing I’ve reported them for. I always add bots to my block list so I can tell if they’re still able to log in and even see their location.
If Anet bans in waves, they don’t do it often enough, that’s for sure.

Anyway, this thread will be deleted without an answer though. The moderator’s stance here is if people don’t see it, it doesn’t happen.

If you witness any such acts while playing, please report them using the in-game ticketing system so our Customer Support team can properly investigate the issue. The forum is not the place for such issues to be discussed. This topic is clossed.
