Reducing Condition Duration (multiplier) ???

Simple question.

If you use Melandru runes, the warrior trait for reducing “movement impeding” conditions, and food that reduces condition duration you can end up with this:

Melandru runes: -10% cond dur (4th rune) and -15% cond dur (6th rune)
Warrior Trait: -33% movement impeding cond dur
Food: -40% cond dur

My question is this: How are the percentages calculated?

Are they all lumped together for a 98% decrease?

For example:

5 second chill
-98% total = 0.1 seconds

Or are they calculated separately somehow?

For example:

5 second chill
-33% (from Trait) = 3.35 seconds
-25% (from Runes) = 2.51 seconds
-40% (from food) = 1.5 seconds

I’ve tried looking around, but I haven’t found the answer yet. I know the “easiest” way to find out is to spec a warrior out this way and test it, but I clearly haven’t done that yet :P

Any help is appreciated.

It would be -98% assuming the other person doesn’t have any +duration.

Someone tested it a while ago.

You can look through their post if you want. Same name here as youtube.

IIRC +condition duration and +chill duration gets applied separately

Correct.

In essence you gain complete condi immunity to those specific conditions as their effect is faster then the icon can appear and disappear on you.

In addition, you also mitigate nearly all condi builds this way as the damage condis are reduced to 1-2 ticks when applied from anyone that doesnt run +40% condi duration food, and 2-3 ticks when applied by anyone running it.

further proof that consumables as a whole should simply be removed from WvW.

not really, condi builds will be running +20% to +30% duration from traits, add more duration from food, and more for specific trait boosted conditions it can negate a lot of the defense condi reduction provides.
