Regarding: Reducing Visual Combat Clutter.
This really should have been a toggle or a slider. There was a lot of animation clutter when you have a bunch of groups fight on mobs that needed to be toned down and a slider so we could select our own levels of acceptable clutter would be nice.
Fireball was also not one of the things that needed to be reduced.
Its not possible for me to dodge Guardians “True Shot” in PvP while a trap is activated due to this unnecessary lightning effect.
And why does Revenant need an extra animation even on dodge?
I agree completely. Some pvp guys claims the ’true sounds (not visual clutter) has not been nerfed but I disagree. Bomb/grenade sound explosions are way more silent then in past. Good example is Chaos storm/spatial surge from mesmer. Sounds got nerfed into the ground, making it sound like mario skills now.
This is guild WARS. This is a game about a DRAGON, as bit as a continent, destroying stuff. And now they make fireballs, look like a small active light? Doesn’t make sense anet? Doesnt bring IMMERSION to the game. it REMOVE IMMERSION. A key part to make ppl enjoy/hate the game.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option

I haven’t listened to the sound nerfs yet, nor did i see the Mesmer nerfs, but i saw the Elementalist and Engineer visual nerfs and i am absolutely furious about these. Break the event meta, fine, release a buggy expansion that crashes every time resetting all my progress towards the meta event, fine, but taking away from the awesome visuals Guild Wars 2 has is absolutely gamebreaking for me. I want an option to turn these back to normal or better yet, like Enko said, a slider would be much better. Write a system that intelligently scales down particles to your desired amount, means it will remove particles from effects equally on all effects down to a certain minimum so that the effect/attack doesn’t vanish entirely.
Forcing reduced visuals down everyone’s throat because some people can’t see beyond some particle effects is just beyond my acceptance levels, give us options or don’t do it at all, particle effects have always been something of personal preference.

Hm, on one hand – what you say.
On the other – these HoT traps (mentioned above) and those Legendary Two-Handers, that still make it hard to see what’s going on.
It seems all an all a lazy fix. I am sure they put a lot of effort into simply making things smaller and thus harder to see. I would rather they replace all effects back to normal, and make an option. It may cost more, but it also doesn’t completely gut visuals on people who can both see through them, and enjoy their presence. I mean the new visuals are almost INVISIBLE to the eye in the middle of combat, and to me that’s worse then potentially making it hard to see. Simply put, in pvp(and in life), the things you don’t see are what kill you. The new visual nerfs are a complete waste of effort on arena net’s time, and are not making the game better by any precedent. I sound harsh, and I do not mean to be. It is just one of the worst changes happening to this game.
I get why PvP hardcore players might want less clutter, but I like things to whizz and bang appropriately. People can turn down their graphics settings if they’re living the E-Sport dream. Maybe add some extra toggles to the settings for customisation, but forcing everything to be less viceral makes all our characters feel a lot weaker to play and that’s not ok.
You have a large amount of players who enjoy PvE and are getting fed up of having our game always be the one to have to make concessions to PvP. Please don’t forget us Anet.
